i found my grandpa’s wedding band tonight. He was my best friend. I can’t believe it’s been ten years without him. I’m planning on wearing it on my pointer finger. It’s 14k white gold with an engraved design on the outside. I would love to see your heirloom bands or rings, especially if you have decided to wear them in honor of those we’ve loved and lost.

Beautiful and meaningful! I love it! My grandpa was also my closest relative. He died in 2002. My dad currently has (and wears) his wedding band but I’ve made it clear that I’d like it to come to me someday. givemesparkles :

I was very close to my grandmother. When she died she left me her wedding band, and it’s the one I got married with. It’s just a plain band, but it means more to me than any other material possession. It’s over 100 years old now!

I’m I have both my Maternal grandmothers engagement ring and my fiancé’s maternal grandmothers engagement ring, I wear them both as rhr’s I planned to wear my grandmothers on my wedding day as my something old. But since future mother in law gifted me her moms engagement ring I feel I should incorporate that too some how. I don’t know yet…

givemesparkles : This is my grandmother’s engagement ring from 1961. Round diamond in a square white gold solitaire. Size 7, my mom was trying it on.
I don’t have photos of my great-grandmothers ring from the 1910 range but it’s similar.

My wedding ring was my grandfather’s wedding ring! Here it is, and also with FI’s wedding band.

I wear my maternal grandmother’s wedding band as a right hand ring every day. It’s 22k yellow gold and over 70 years old. It’s slightly misshapen from her having a fall aged 93 and breaking her wrist.
I also have my gran’s mother’s wedding band, and my gran’s great grandmother’s wedding band but I don’t wear them daily (my great great grandmother’s had to be cut off when she was unwell, and it was soldered back together by my great great grandfather – badly!). I’ve got my gran’s engagement ring, and my mum had her gran’s engagement ring too.
(Excuse the nails, they’re nearly 4 weeks at this point!)
