Recently on my trip to Singapore, I’ve FINALLY found my wedding shoes! It was so frustrating because I was very concerned with the color of the shoe (I wanted it to be blush pink/pinkish-nude) and I also wanted closed toe. The only issue with closed toe shoes for me is that I have very small feet (about size 3-4 depending on the different cuts of shoes) and normally, pumps would not fit and my feet would slip out whilst walking. I was about to lose hope when I decided as a last attempt, I’d step into Ferragamo just to see if there were any options for me. At last I decided on the classic Vara pump in their seasonal color: New blush!
The only slight concern I have is that I’m 5″ and these heels are only about 3cm tall, hence not providing me with much help in the height department. I’m concerened that it will compromise how my dress looks on me and I’m also worried about my bridesmaids looking taller than me. Are there any other petite brides like me that have decided to either go with flats or a really low heel? Anyone else afraid of looking like a midget on their wedding day?
Other than that, I’m really really in love with these shoes and still feel like I’ve made the right decision because these shoes would be perfect for our garden wedding plus I would definitely wear them often after the wedding!

I accept that I’m short so have no problem looking short. I’m going for a ballgown dress so I’m going to wear whatever is comfortable since nobody will be able to see my feet.
I considered wearing heels for height, but I’m going to be on my feet a lot. Maybe you can wear heels for photos and then switch to flats for the reception?

I’m wearing flats for my wedding because I never wear heels and can’t walk in them. Also my fiancé and me are both 5’3″ so I don’t want to be towering over him lol.

- Wedding: July 2019 - Southampton, UK
I’m 5’1″, I’m shorter than all my bridesmaids, and I’m wearing flats. I don’t care if I’m shorter than them. I have fibromyalgia and can’t wear heels anymore, it would be too painful.

I’m 5’3”, my groom is about 5’10”, and my maid of honor is also 5’10”. I bought heels for my wedding, but I also have bridal sandals for the reception and backup shoe if I can’t do the heels. I say embrace the shortress and don’t worry about how tall you look! It’s likely your loved ones already know how petite you are 😉 here are my shoes, for fun!

I’m 5’3 and I plan on wearing flats. Everyone will be taller than me (my Fiance is 6’2).
My Fiance and I take a lot of pictures together. We strike this pose where I stand on my tiptoes and he hunches over a bit so the height difference isn’t as noticeable. We’ve done this for so long now that most people don’t even notice, including the strangers we hand a camera to! We told our photographer this and he kind of rolled his eyes, but I don’t care because it works for us!

WOW! Both pairs of shoes look fabulous!

I’m a little shy of 5’2″ and will be wearing 1-2 inch heels. Fiance is about 5’7″.

I found these and love them. My Fiance and I are the same height so they are perfect.

Beautiful shoes! And Ferragamo Varas are the absolute comfiest – you will have a little lift, but can also be happy walking on grass and dancing the night away. I think they are perfect!

Thanks for the advice! It’s likely I’ll be in my shoes the whole time without a change because they’ve only got 3cm of heel height plus Fiance would be very upset if I switched shoes because the current shoes are quite expensive. But you’re absolutely right, I should accept that I’m short and embrace it!
I did envision myself in high heels for the wedding but damn, finding the perfect shoes are tough! Especially when feet are as small as mine. Fiance is 5’5″ so even if I was in 4-inch heels, it would be fine but yes, you definitely dont wanna be towering over him!
You’re the same as me! All my bridesmaids will be taller than me. I’m just unsure if I should ask them to wear flats instead as well.
You’re right!! I should embrace that my shortness and yes, all my family already knows how petite I actually am. Btw, those shoes look bomb!! Love how your bridal sandals look!
Awww that’s cute 🙂 Don’t bother about what the photographer thinks and you go ahead and do you!
Those look amazing! Might I ask where did you get them?
Thank you! These are my first Ferragamo Vara’s. I haven’t worn them out so far (won’t be until the wedding) but from trying them on, they feel extremely comfy. Totally spot on about having the little lift but these shoes will be perfect for walking/dancing on the grass as well.
