@LuluInLove:  WOW just wanted to congratulate you and your DH! I’ve been following your story and I’m so so happy for you! Unfortunately don’t have any advice as we are still TTC but wishing you all the best! You are going to be AMAZING!

I just wanted to chime in, that if SIDS is something that you are super worried about (fear of it was a major source of anxiety for me when my son was born) I highly recommend the SNUZA monitor. You clip it onto the baby’s diaper and it senses the baby’s belly moving with each breath. It was the best $100 I spent because it let me sleep at night!

@LuluInLove:  Just another reminder:

Make sure all the necessary paperwork is filled out, filed, and approved before taking baby home – especially if you live in another state from where the Bio Mom is giving birth; not having the proper paperwork on file can lead to legal issues. A good (ethical) adoption lawyer and agency will help make sure that happens, but you need to stay on top of it too and make sure every necessary document is done properly.

And keep breathing like everyone is telling you. You still have a good amount of time to prep for your little guy’s arrival. Do the best you guys can and try not to worry too much. 🙂

I’m adopted and my parents told me that they found out the night before they got my older brother and they had to get a everything that night! Yikes!! They had more advance notice with me.

I understand your concern with flat head and was worried about it too when i had my son. I worked in childcare and thought I know so much. But… my son had colic and we had to use the swing for his gas bc it was the only thing that worked.

There’s very little that babies need and you still have 2 months to get all of it! Many mamas don’t start buying the bulk of the stuff until now. After my son was born we had to make a trip to babies r us to get more things bc we realized that a similar yet different product would work better for him. so keep those recipts!

I would start with a crib, travel system, bottles, bathtub, diapers, sleepers. Those are the big things. And have fun decorating a nursery!! 🙂

Some extras that I love are: halo sleep swaddles/sacks, sleep sheep, little remedies emergency kit, sofie the giraffe, anglecare movement video moniter, fisher price little lamb swing, summer infant super seat, Lamaze toys, ergo and moby wrap.

HisIrishPrincess:  Wooooah your Aunty (and Uncle!) are machines! Thats amazing! I take my hat off to them haha I bet they wouldn’t change it for the world though!

Reminds me of a friend of our families, she didn’t think she could concieve, ended up with 4 babies (including a set of twins) within less than 4 years. And she loves it!

OP, its amazing what parents are capable of, you got this! Don’t doubt yourself 😉
