Wooooo!!!! I found the dress! I’m very petite so my figure looks really boxy in the pictures but it’s because I’m wearing a big sample size. I included a pic at the end where I’m holding the fabric so you can see how nice the fit will eventually be 🙂 I’m also going to add a single layer of crinoline for an even fuller skirt, and maybe a pale blue ribbon belt (did not like the belt in the pice). I’m thinking of going with a long juliet veil.
What do you think?! I’m excited but nervous becuase I went dress shopping alone. It was also just so hard to picture everything actually being my size (i’m short and slim). They told me it will be very fitted in the top, just nervous I guess! Thanks for reassurance! (sorry for massive pics!)

BEAUTIFUL dress! I love the flowyness look of it. I am also petite and tried on something similar to this. I think the silhouette elongates smaller brides. I also found my wedding gown when shopping alone, but with the sample size being 18 I was hesitant too! So I brought my mom and my bridesmaid for another appointment and ended up buying the gown!

swonderful: your dress is gorgeous love it!
When they order the dress in your size it will be perfect.

Is this a Watters dress?
This was the exact style I wanted, but then tried it on and it didn’t do anything for me. It looks amazing on you though! I’m sure after it’s ordered in the correct size you’ll love it!

This was the first dress I tried and I loved loved loved it. For various reasons I didn’t get it but still think it was probably the dress I should have bought. Its like I’m in mourning! It’s a gorgeous dress. Congrats 🙂

Thanks everyone! Your’e making me feel more sure 🙂 it’s just so weird to buy something without seeing it in your real size! I’m getting married in a small backyard wedding so I thought the flowy etherial fabric would look pretty in the breeze 🙂
Jewel814: robin2015: This is technically a Love Marley by Watters, the dress name is Penelope (so confusing)! The store had it with WTOO though. FWIW, I paid $900.

Once its fitted it will fit perfect. I love it.
I tried on a dress in a size 18 and had to order it in a size 8. When the dress got clamped back to fit me it looked funny because the dress wasnt made for my size. It was hard to imagine where the dress would start to fall down my hip because it was pulled back so much that it made me look like i had a long torso. I am hoping that i made the right choice but i get where you are coming from.
Love the dress though and once it is fitted it will look even better on you. I love the top!

It’s lovley! I’d rethink the blue ribbon since the sparkle belt is so classy and quite fine andoffsets the sumptuous lace and tulle ( just my unsolicited opinion here). Blue is a cool colour while your dess is in warm, subdued tones so I feel it wouldn’t blend well.
I love the etheral quality of this dress.

i think it will flow beautifully once its the right size and fitted for your body! yay!

observer: That’s a good point about the tones of the dress, I hadn’t thought of that. I think I just don’t like the thickness of the belt, maybe something sparkly but a bit thicker would be better? I am petite but don’t have a very well defined waist (more straight up and down) so I feel like a thicker belt (plus an extra crinoline) might give me a little help in that department. Thoughts?

That is a beautiful dress! So pretty – the bottom is stunning. I agree that a thicker belt may look better than the thin one in the pictures. I would wait to make that decision until you receive it in your size, though. I think the separation of fabrics once it fits might create the nipped in waist you’re looking for.

Hey dress twin!! I just ordered the same dress 2 weeks ago, at RK bridal too! I was thinking of a 1 inch sparkly belt and also adding crinoline as well. I ordered it in all ivory, so I’m nervous to see how that will look.
When I had tried on the sample, it was also too big and the consultant criss crossed the straps in the back. I actually liked how that looked, so I’m thinking of altering the straps to do that.
Here is the dress on the runway. The top looks really fitted. I hope once it comes in the right size that it is more like this. It looks great!

swonderful: No harm in trying a thicker belt to see how it looks.
