@Carliej01:  Foundation is one of the hardest things to get right. It’s funny that you first mentioned MUFE HD Foundation because I currently have 3 shades upstairs and not a single one is “just right”. I have come to the conclusion they just don’t make my color which really makes me sad. Luckily, just like MAC, Sephora has a great return policy.

@Carliej01:  Oh, and one more thing to keep in mind, MAC consultants work off of comission, Sephora sales people do not – probably why you had such a different experience with customer service.

I just got foundation at mac, and they could not match my skin tone. i am pale and the color they picked  looked ok in the store, but in real daylight it looks like death. i tried a few other foundations and can’t get anything that looks right.

@kerensa:  Maybe try foundation from NARS, in the shade Siberia?  I’m ridiculously pale, and it matches me.  Still not sure if I love it as a foundation though, since I only just started using it and I also need to learn how to put it on properly lol.

ETA:  OP, I feel your pain.  Dealing with undertones and stuff is a pain in the ass.  For me, everything tends to turn yellowy or orangey.  Go back to Sephora and get samples of the shades that seem most likely to match your skin…then test them in all different lighting conditions and wear them for hours (to make sure they don’t oxidize or whatever).
