The best thing I ever did was make a trip to the Clinique booth at Nordstrom.  I have combo skin and I didn’t realize till that day I have been wearing the wrong type of foundation.  I love my Clinique Superbalanced Liquid Makeup.  It leaves your skin feeling so soft and “absorbs oil where oil-control is needed; moistuirizes where hydration is needed” Love it! Best money spent.

My skin is similar. My chin is super oily but around my nose tends to be dry. I swear by Revlon’s Colorstay Makeup for Combination/Oily skin. I tried 5 different foundations at Sephora and this one from Walgreens was the best (and the cheapest!).

So far I’ve been using Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream when I do use foundation and it has been great, kept my skin not oily for pretty much the whole day!  It is liquid.

well since I’m kind of asking the same thing today too……I’m right there with you! I barely know what kind of skin I have. Oily forehead, dry around my nose, and probably normal elsewhere. Although it’s usually oily by the end of the night.

I honestly haven’t been able to find anything that works perfectly – I’ve tried mostly liquid because I think it blends better, but I’ve tried matte as well.

@Tiffanyrami:  I agree, this is a great texture for my combo skin. Unfortunately, they don’t make my color, so I’m searching for something else. I used to wear their foundation just fine, but lately all the colors seem way too pink for my skin. 🙁

@hecallsmelove:  It’s 23.00 for a bottle.  A little goes a long way though so I anticipate this bottle lasting a long time.  Also if you do end up liking it, you can order it online and they can send you a new bottle every couple of months.

@les105:  Oh no, thats sad when a makeup cant fit your coloring especially when it did in the past! I am a ginger who is also spanish so I have lighter skin with a hint of pink cheeks and tan.  It’s horrible lol so I was just happy when something blended right.  I have tried those true blends which didn’t work at all, have you found a good replacement?

To start the process you should go to the mall counter.  They will test all the colors for you for free! She tried a whole bunch of foundation colors to find matches and finally did half my face in one and half in the other..I looked in the mirror and it was a clear choice! Plus it was fun to have someone do your makeup and find the right fit for you.  I know thats what I needed because I have been picking wrong foundations forever lol. I am not a huge makeup person also so I understand why you may be intimidated.  I went to the girl and was pretty much like help I am having a hard time finding a color to match my skin tone and type.  She did all the work for me.

Once you find your fit then you can buy your refills at Ulta.  I have only been to an Ulta once, and it was for some great hair products! I’m not sure what their makeup is like but if they have what I wrote above, then definitely save yourself the trip 🙂
