Has anyone here used the Foundry Park Inn in Athens as their venue or attended a wedding there? Based on their pictures, the place is BEAUTIFUL. And the room rental fees are almost too good to be true, especially considering all that’s included (tables, chairs, linens, place settings, glassware, event coordinator). They also offer a ton of catering/bar options at a variety of price points.
I’ve researched almost every venue in northeast Georgia/Anderson, SC and gotten a ton of information from ggsb. (Thanks again — you are amazing!!!) Foundry Patk Inn really seems like the best value for my tight budget ($3500 MAX for 65-75 people). But I’d love some more feedback from Bees who’ve been there.

Went to college in Athens and can confirm that the Inn is gorgeous! The aren’t kidding around about the headcount though – 75 people is probably the max it could reasonably accomodate – at least the room I saw.
Are you from Athens? Will you be getting married on a home-game Saturday in autumn? If yes, I’d be very specific with them about the parking amenities for guests, since it will be nigh on impossible to find any elsewhere.

Thanks so much! We were told that the space we’re looking at seats 120 for a reception, and since we’re only inviting 80 adults, 9 infants/children, I’m confidant we’ll be fine as far as headcount.
I also appreciate the home game advice. We have decided on an October wedding, but I’ve confirmed that the weekend we’re considering is NOT a home game. I would not want to put out of town guests through that!
Oh, and no, neither of my fiance nor I live in Athens. We’re each about 45 minutes out (in different directions). The areas we live in are very remote. That’s one of the reasons we’re considering Athens — it would give our guests a greater variety of things to do/eat.

I was a Bridesmaid or Best Man in an October wedding a couple of years ago and the reception was at the Foundry Park Inn. This space is FANTASTIC and the food is great too! You’ll really love for that size party. We had about that many and a band and dance floor and still had plenty of room. There’s so much you can do with the room and there was plenty of parking in the lot around the back side of the hotel. Congratulations!
