Nothing you can do that isn’t considered “rude”. At this point, I’m probably going to end up not having one as well, unfortunately (MOH is going through rough times).

I wonder if your Fiance can talk to her?? Ask her if she was planning on throwing a shower for you?

(or is that rude too….?)

Fiance asking would also be rude. A family member (not you or your FI) could bring it up casually if one of them knows her. If you’re really close with your Maid/Matron of Honor, you could ask if she’s planning one, but etiquette-wise, I’m pretty sure that’s a no-no. Guess it depends on your Maid/Matron of Honor. She may not care if you just ask to check, and maybe it will get her thinking about the fact that no one else is planning one for you.

Perhaps I am wrong here…. but what is wrong with asking your Maid/Matron of Honor if she was planning on throwing it? Maybe it is a local thing, but it is the norm for the Maid/Matron of Honor to host the bridal shower here. She is also the person in charge of the Bach party. Maybe it depends on your relaitonship, my Maid/Matron of Honor is my best friend so I would have had no problems asking her about it.

This a a hard one. If you ask her if she was planning on throwing a shower and she says, “no”, it’s going to hurt her feelings. It will also put her on the spot regardless and then she may feel pressured, especially since she can’t afford it. I would have Fiance say something if possible. No one is throwing me a shower so I know how you feel at the moment.

I only had one shower, even though my friends were so excited about hosting on of their own.  My aunts threw it for me, and please don’t get me wrong, it was a blast, but the one my friends (and BMs) were telling me about was going to be a scrapbooking party.  I really wish that would have happened.

For my cousin’s wedding I went to three different showers.  Nobody on her side of the famly threw me one.  It did mak me a little hurt.

Oh well, not much to do now!  Just looking forward to the wedding Smile

@bellagio: I think we should just meet in between AZ and TX and go to a Chuck E Cheese or something lol. I’ll bring a gift!
