Semi-regular poster here going anon because I’m paranoid.
Anyways, I’m freaking out that I am prego. (Normally would be super ecstatic because Fiance and I want to start a family asap, however asap does not mean 6.5 months before our wedding – awful awful timing!)
Anyways, I’m not sure if I am prego or not but I need some reassurance here to keep me sane!
So, I’m on oral contraception, which I’m typically very good about taking (8 years no babies so far!)
Anyways, Fiance and I haven’t been “active” over the past 2 weeks because I haven’t been feeling well (had some kidney stones, then AF came to town and just feeling generally blah).
I usually take my BC pill around 7-9 pm. Friday night (10/5) we got home around midnight/1 am Saturday (10/6) and I took it then. Saturday afternoon (10/6) Fiance and I did the deed. Saturday night (10/6) I missed the pill. Sunday (10/7) we were gone all day (pills were at home) and so I took two pills when we got home around midnight (10/7)/1 am monday am (10/8).
Well, the past two days I have been having low back pain (typical lately since I’ve had the kidney stones) but weird cramping (a lot today) – both feel very much like period cramping/back pain. My last period started around Friday (10/28). I started a new pill pack on Saturday 10/29. FWIW my stomach and back have been hurting MILDLY on and off the past few weeks, but feeling better over the past few days (til now, and the pain today is worse than it’s been over the past few weeks other than when I was actively passing kidney stones!)
What are the odds I could be prego? I know it’s technically a possibility but do you think I am freaking myself out for nothing?! (I’m reading horror stories about symptoms of pregnancy just days after conception)
I’m dying since I won’t be able to take a prego test for a few weeks.

It sounds highly unlikely that you’re preggers but possible. I always keep a morning after pill just in case something like this happens (it’s too late for that option now). You might also be reacting to doubling up on your pills.
If you are pregnant you WONT feel the symptoms yet. I don’t care what the internet says, your birth control simulates to your body beginning stage hormones of pregnancy already. Missing a day and then doubling up is greater hormonal change than any 3 days of egg floating around in your uterus trying to find a 9 month apartment.
Relax, take a long hot bath (to help with the cramping). It’s suuuuper unlikely that you’re pregnant, and if you are, as you said you were looking to start a family. Sounds like worst case senario you start your family some months early. Worst case. Not enough to make yourself sick for a month.
Really, there’s pretty much no chance you’re preggers. I hope you feel better soon.

@PlumeriaSplash: THanks so much for taking the time to respond. I was contemplating getting Plan B on Sunday night but felt I’d be “okay” Now I wish I had for peace of mind! I hope you’re right – I’ve had like 4 friends get prego on BC in the past year, so I feel like there’s whoopsie baby dust in the air.
Doesn’t help that my mother told me the other day there would be no wedding if I was pregnant (she randomly likes to say that shit to me every few weeks!)

@MrsWBS: Oh man, don’t listen to your mother! That’s just silly. You can have a wedding if you’re pregnant! I’ll keep you in my thoughts and I send my love and luck 🙂 Things are totally going to work out alright!

Is it possible the symptoms are just side effects of missing pills/doubling up? When I was using the pill, I would usually have cramps and a possible early start to my period if I missed one.
