So… My last period started on Sept 5th. Everything was fine and then around September 18th my fiance and I had unprotected sex, which would’ve been about the time I’d be ovulating. I took Plan B within 24 hours…. Yes we are engaged but we are in no way ready for a child… I had the what I hear is “normal” bleeding after taking Plan B. The problem is I have yet to have my period and it’s October 22nd. In the last few weeks I have taken 3 pregnancy tests and they were all negative. I hear Plan B can mess up your period… Could that be it or could I be pregnant? Granted if I was we could definitely figure out a way to make it work, we just at this point are not quite ready. I don’t feel any different really, aside from not having my period and I have been kind of bloated. Is there a way I could still be pregnant, even with the negative tests? How accurate are First Response at home tests? Please help! Thank you!!!!

I had a sister and a friend both take plan b and it took them a couple months for their periods to be regular again. I think you will be fine 🙂

@gonzos2007: Lots of questions! I’m answering these from experience, but not as a doctor:
1. Can MAP mess up AF? Yes. I’ve taken it twice, and both times I had my period (not heavy) right after taking it and it reset my cycles.
2. Can I be pregnant? Yes and no. If that sucker swam with the fury of a thousand suns, it could have implanted itself. HOWEVER, even cheap tests would tell you if you were pregnant that far in. If you ovulated on Sept 18 and got pregnant, then you would be 34 days past ovulation. From the ladies in the pregnancy boards, you will know that would be two solid lines!
My best guess would be that your cycle reset itself from September 19/20. As a result, if you have a typical 28 day cycle you are about a week late, which could be the result of stress. If you are still worried, you can always get a blood draw.

@gonzos2007: the only time I took plan B it hecka messed up my cycle- 2 weeks late!!! Plus I was nauseated on top of it. No good! Take the first responses test first thing in the morning to make your urinemore concentrated. if its positive, it would have shown by now. Good luck! If you’re not ready for a baby, why dont you get on the pill or use an IUD?

Plan B majorly messed up my cycle in the past. I was 1.5 months late after I took it!

ChuckNorris I was on the pill but I was put on several different ones because my body reacted badly to all of them…. I have an appointment to get an IUD but they said I need to be on my period… So that’s pretty much what I’m waiting for now.
