I am a nurse that works in Oncology (cancer patients). I can tell you that a lot of times the nurses are waiting for the doctors to review the labs. It’s as simple as them reading the report and telling the nurse it is ok to release results, but getting a DR. to stop in between seeing patients if they are even in clinic or getting ahold of them if they are seeing patient’s at the hospital cna be quite the task.

It doesn’t necesarily mean the results are bad either, it might just depend on department policy. I would wait until lunch time and if he hasn’t heard he should call back.

I know how difficult it can be waiting for test results.  Try to just take deep breaths and relax.  I’m sure that everything will turn out ok.  The doctor’s office is usually very busy on Monday mornings, and although it’s no excuse, that may be why he hasn’t received a call back.  Tell him to call back, and ask to be put on hold until he gets the results.  This will show the doctor’s office he is not willing to wait any longer, and will give him a better chance of immediate results.

(((HUGS))) I’m so sorry that you’re going through something so awful. I’m sure your Fiance would like someone to be with him right now too; is there any way that you can take the rest of the day off work?

((HUGS)) for you honey! I hope he calls soon. That’s a really stressful situation. I feel awful for you! I hope it’s good news. I’ll keep my fingers and toes and legs crossed for you two.

I’m so sorry you are going through this.  You and your Fiance are in my thoughts… Things like this are so difficult, there is no easy response.  It’s easy to say don’t stress, but that’s not helpful for you in this moment.  Just know that you have everyone here at the hive thinking of you…

I agree, try to just take a minute to your self and take some deep breaths. Like I said just because they aren’t telling him the results, it doesn’t mean they are bad. It’s good your work is understanding of your situation. I am really sorry you are going through this.

Just a question, did they say if the results were back yet when he called? On biopsys like this it can take several days to have the pathology report back. I know some offices have to send these out because their labs don’t run the right tests and that can add some time too.
