Ok I have been sick the last week or so. I don’t feel overly horrible as far as my cold goes. I also have had my monthly friend since friday and its been pretty bad for me as far as pain and how heavy the flow is. sorry if thats TMI but its not normally this bad for me. This morning I took an allergy pill and an ibuprofen to help with the cramps. I feel so strange right now. Im starting to panic a bit and need to maybe just be talked down off of th eledge of insanity.
I am drinking water righ tnow and my boss is aware of how im feeling, she sits right across the hall from me and can see me if we leave our doors open. So I have someone keeping an eye on me. I keep feeling like im going to pass out. Like every few minutes I have a dizzy spell and feel flushed like im going to just fall over and pass out. My guess is that im dehydrated? or maybe its just the haze of medicine and being sick? maybe due to my heavy period i like lost too much blood or something? lol idk. I do know thought htat I am even afraid to get up to go to the bathroom cuz I am afraid if i stand up ill pass out let alone drive myself home! I will probably have my FI pick me up. anyone else ever go through this while being sick or should I maybe try something else to feel better? its really a scary feeling guys
Can someone please move this to wellness?

Yeah, sometimes… I feel like that when I am really really sick and can’t get out of bed though, I certainly would not be working. Hope your boss sends you home!

Have you eaten anything? Could be low blood sugar…. or a fever. In any event, someone should probably drive you home to be on the safe side. Feel better!

Did the allergy pill have pseudoephedrine in it? sometimes that will make you a little dizzy and it’s a decongestant so it will dry you out a little and make you feel a little funny… you very well could be dehydrated… I would continue to drink water and mix a little gatorade in there periodically… have you checked your temp? maybe your cold got into your chest and you might have to get checked out to be sure you don’t have bronchitis or something….
Hope this helps a little…

thanks ladies! my boss just ran to the cafeteria and got me some soup. cream of spinach. the cream part probably isnt the wisest but it is helping. And im drinking a bunch of water. I have so much to do here it is hard for me to want to stay home. And like I said, over all the actual cold I hve hasn’t made me feel horrible, im not coughing a lot, I just have a stuffy nose and even that isn’t so bad. I think my body is just tired. I fully plan on leaving and going straight to bed when I get home.

@stardustintheeyes: swap your water for some gatorade/electrolyte replacement or watered down juice! too much water will crash your sugars and make you in worse shape, especially if you havent eaten much.

I just wanted to add that if your period is heavier than normal it could lead to low iron levels in your blood. If you are able to, please eat some red meat to get your levels back in the meantime.
Food is a good idea, just nothing too rich or sugary. But iron will help with the dizzyness and tired feeling.
I really hope you feel better soon. I hate when I feel like that.

@Eva Peron: someone just suggested a gatorade. Im willing to try anything. I feel better after having some soup. I swear i feel like a kid in high school that got sent to the nurses office! im sitting here with a blanket and soup and my boss and coworkers are all kind of buzzing in and out of here bringing me stuff 🙁 I must look and sound like crap!
