Don’t panick, it’s in there somwhere. check your recent documents/items, check your downloads folder, check your recycle bin just in case…do a document search with some key words that were in the document.

It should be under recent places. Or you can open word and see if its in recent documents.

Go to word, select “open” and usually it will open to the last place it saved.

Go to the start menu, go to search and type in the name of the file as you last saved it.

Hope those help!

@Keisha In Love:  also do a search for all files modified today–could be that when you renamed the doc, you accidentally removed the .docx extension and so if you look for Word docs it won’t be found. When you find it just rename it again to add back in the .doc or .docx extension.

If it’s not on your desktop it’s probably in your default folder that Word is set up for–go to File>Options>Save and look at the Default File Location.

@Keisha In Love:  Not sure what version of Windows you’re running but basically:

Open up windows explorer

Choose My Computer so it searches everything

Choose the search option

Under the search options, choose the date modified, put in today.

If you have trouble, post which version of windows you have and i’ll give you more explicit info.

Also, did you log off at all and switch user names or something?  Just wondering why you can’t open up the last doc worked on, it should have linked it.

And which version of Word are you using?

I’m not sure if someone already suggested this, but have you opened up word (just a new blank document), then go into file and go into “open recent” you should see all the documents your have been working on over the past few days.
