Hello everyone! I’m graduating in a few weeks from college and I’m so nervous about one of my classes. I took this really difficult computer class this semester and I left the semester with a C. But I bombed the final which means I probably failed the class and means I won’t graduate at the end of the month.
I don’t know what to do because I already sent my grandparents graduation tickets! Plus I’m upset at disappointing my parents. I’m mad at myself mostly. Any advice would be appreciative! Thank you!

Have you tired talking to the professor to see if you really did bomb the final? Good luck! I hope everything works out.

A lot of schools will let you walk for graduation with units pending, to be taken another semester. I have friends who walked but didn’t technically graduate for another year or two (just didn’t take that last 1-2 classes). See what your school’s policy is!

I agree with maisymay, you probably are still going to be able to walk even if you still have to make up this one class. This is because they don’t have graduation ceremonies after the summer semester. Have you talked to the professor to see if you can do anything to get a passing grade in the class? Is this a required class for your major or just an elective?

Thank you everyone. I will be e-mailing my professor tomorrow and I’m meeting with my advisor on Wednesday.

Does your professor curve it? It’s possible everyone bombed it.

@kay01: No my professor didn’t curve it. But I did have to contact him because I had a passing grade and I failed the class. So I don’t understand. I did fail the final, it was an online class so I could see the grades. But I looked at it all and the final seemed to be 50% of the class. But on the syllabus it’s 20%. So I don’t know if it was an error. I’m waiting ot hear back.

Good luck. It is definitely possible for profs to make a mistake. I’ve had it happen to me. I misplaced a students midterm this term for a few hours (handed all of them out and didn’t have hers but located back at apartment – had just gotten separated), but the student was absolutely pissed about it. You should be able to do the math yourself to come to an approximation of your grade (it may not be perfect if there are things like participation in there).
