so here’s the deal:
I tried on the most perfect dress – Maggie Sottero Adorae. I am usually in street clothes a size 6-8 so was surprised when the sample size 6 dress at the bridal shop fit like a glove ( i know bridal label sizes are usually bigger)
I wanted to order it right away, they took my measurements and said according to the chart i should order a 10 (because of my biggest measurement my hips), even though the sample i was wearing was a 6 and would need not a single alteration to it, even had a little wiggle room.
they told me samples stretch out because of all the people that try them on, but the difference between a 6 and 10 was like 5 full inches. Could a dress honestly stretch out that much from being tried on?
I went with my gut at the time and order the 6 since the sample fit so perfectly, (also it has a corset back should i need an extra inch or so)
but now 3 months after ordering i am mentally freaking out a bit that my dress will show up and big too small.
Should I be worried?
here are 2 pics of me in the sample dress i tried on.. i picked one where you can see front and back to see how it fits.

Why worry yourself? Unnecessary drama. Unless you’ve gained a ton of weight, I wouldn’t dwell on it too much. You’ll just have to wait and see. No use worrying about it until it comes in. If it is too snug, then you can start worrying. Or working out. Or let the dress out. Whichever — there’s always a solution. Take a deep breath; I’m sure it’ll be fine!

Well if it needs to be stretched out, you have an excuse to bop around the house in your wedding dress 🙂 Honestly, I think you picked the better decision, if a 6 fit you you’d probably be swimming in a 10 and need a lot of alterations!

You will be fine in the size 6, especially with the corset back! I do think the dresses get stretched out a little but not a whole dress size!

The dresses do stretch out quite a bit in the shops BUT all that means is if it’s a bit snug you just get to “try it on” more yourself.
I tried on a 6 in the store and it fit perfect.. ordered the 6.. and when I got it.. it took almost 10 minutes to get it on! GASP!
I put it on only a few more times before the big day, and each time it fit a bit better. And on the Big Day it fit PERFECTLY!!!!! You also have to take into consideration your normal fluxuation in weight… when I got my dress in I was at that part of my cycle when I tend to be bloated…
Just know whatever the difference is it won’t be THAT much… even if like me it takes 10 minutes to get into… lol.. plus your dress is a corset back (unlike mine) so that will make a HUGE difference in your size leway =)

Don’t freak out! With the corset, you will be fine in any case. 🙂

They do stretch out quite a bit in the shops, I would just keep it at home until you NEED to take it in for alterations and try it on a handful of times there (be sure to stand on a clean white sheet) and it should be ok.
