Dependig on where the zipper is have them put in a corsett back.Otherwise they should be ablew to let out the sides a bit.

I’m actually in the same situation with a couple of my bridesmaids now. When I called the shop they told me that in certain dresses… the seam can be let out by two inches on either side. (depending on the style and simplicity of the dress). I would definitely talk to a seamstress asap.

A corset should take care of it but get it in ASAP!

Get it in immediately or it won’t be done. They should be able to let out the sides a bit and figure out what to do with the back so it can fit. Good luck! It will all work out 🙂

I had this problem when I was in a wedding a few years ago.. the dress fit at the shop.. then I put on some pounds and looked like a stuffed sausage when it came in. The seamstress we worked w/ took the fabric from the bottom of the dress (it was hemmed) and used it to fill in the gap & let it out on the sides/bust area.. it worked out fine & you couldn’t tell at all it was let out! Maybe suggest that.

This happened to me last year – the wedding was around PMS time for me, and my water retention and boob swelling made it almost impossible to get my dress one! In the end, some awesome spanx made it possible, plus the other four members of the bridal party collaborated to get me zipped in. A seamstress should be able to help and offer tips on fit and undergarments too…try a Nordstrom.

Seamstresses can seriously make magic.  Talk to one of them before you freak out too much.

if you got the dress from davids bridal.. one of the seamstresses told me their bridesmaids dresses are really difficult to let out. hopefully spanx or a corset back should help.

I was bridesmaid a week ago and was fretting because the dress was soo tight!  I spent 2 weeks on fruit and cereal before handand managed the day and then wore a cardigan after the photos so I could let down my zipper and breathe again!  No one noticed a thing!  I am now fattening back up for my wedding in 3 weeks time 😀  She wasnt a bridezilla and asked me to lose weight by the way, fear of passing out was enough of a push 😉 x

It really is the bridesmaid’s responsibility to deal with this, not yours.  She should find herself a good tailor and see what can be done to help.

curious- did they mess up the sizing or did Bridesmaid or Best Man gain weight?
