I’ve been really thinking and I’m sure I want my freckles in the wedding photos. They are my FI’s pride and joy and to cover them up on the big day would just be silly. I’m so proud of them anyways. The only problem is the fact that I have pretty red flushed skin (very red checks). Even when I get slightly embarrassed or excited my whole face turns bright bright red.
So this is my question: does anyone know of a foundation that will still let my freckles pop in photos but get rid of the redness I’m so embarrassed about. People try to tell me that my redness is beautiful but I know it’s something I’m not confident about yet. I’ve worked on it plenty of times but each time I come back to the foundation bottle and cover it up.
Suggestions?
This is the best picture I could find of my freckles (even though it’s like the WORST picture of me EVER):

If that’s the worst pic of you ever then you have absolutely nothing to worry about beautiful girl! I’m not really sure about a foundation but Clinique has a yellow loose powder that cancels out redness somewhat that might help:) Or maybe if you used bare escentuals very lightly? I’m not sure, but good luck!

Are you having a makeup artist do the makeup on your wedding day? I bet they could get the look you’re going for. I don’t personally have freckles or redness (other than acne) so I have no idea other than to ask a professional.

So instead of covering your adorable freckles! =] natural beauty!
you might have something called roseacia! its a redness of the skin!
I would suggest using cetaphil facial lotion! its a little pricier but I totally believe that it works for me in the “redness department”…best of luck and sorry for the mis-spelling of things!
**You got me thinking about a new foundation to try for myself and my “redness issues” and I came across this! Thought I would share!

I have the same issue, every time I get embarrassed I flush bright red from top to toe. I’m not sure how to hide redness, but allow the freckles to be seen at the same time, but I just wanted to tell you that you have the most beautiful clear skin and I’m sure you’re going to look gorgeous on your wedding day 🙂

I have the same problem. I love my freckles but they barely show thru the redness anymore. Mine is definitely roscea. I tried that link above from work, but of course it won’t let me go to it. I’ll be keeping my eye on this thread to see if anyone comes up with anything.

The freckles definitely need to stay. Go to a few if the make up counters, like Clinique or Origins, in your department store and ask. You might just need a tinted translucent powder for the redness, and it might have a green tint that will not be noticeable on your skin.)

You are totally adorable and I love your freckles. I use Bare Minerals foundation, and it evens out skin tone without hiding my face, if you know what I mean. I still look like me.

Clinique makes a roscea cream (it’s green) that works really well. I am not sure how it would look on skin that is not red or if freckles would show through but it works wonders on my mom’s roscea.

Thank you ladies, all of you are so sweet and helpful and I always walk away feeling like a million bucks. 🙂 I’m not sure if I will be having someone else do my makeup or not. I usually can do it so it looks very nice and I think I could do it myself to save a lot of money…but I haven’t been able to decide yet.
I thought it might be rosecia but wasn’t sure, it’s nice to have that confirmation!

If you have a MAC pro store get a small sample of MAC face and body to try. I know people disllke this foundation but for a very sheer no makeup look this can look great on some people. If you are really oily don’t bother but if dry and a Fall wedding it might work. Make sure you use a water based primer before with this one and with a dusting of powder. My favorite powder is MAC in blot. This foundation has no spf and will let your skin show through. it will look good for about 4 hours in cool Fall temperature.
I work on photo shoots often and this will photograph like real skin but does need touch ups do to shine. I would also exfoliate a few times a week before the wedding . My fav is Amore Pacific treatment enzyme peel.
Good Luck!

I’m so pleased that I opened this thread to hear you say that you are going to keep your freckles! I was worried you were going to talk about getting rid of them and I was sad.

I have the same issue. I love my freckles, but foundation seems to half cover them and ends up looking terrible. I had a make up artist do my make up at my sister’s wedding and she knew what to do (or use) to keep my skin looking natural.
Even if you dno’t hire someone for the big day, going to see a pro will help you know what you need to do it yourself.
