My so generous employer from my part time job offered me & my fiance his beach front condo in Mexico for two week. His condo is an hour south of Cancun in Akumal. The area is beautiful & there’s tons of excursions to do. We aren’t doing the whole traditional wedding registry of household items since we already live together & have everything we need. We created a wedding honeymoon registry to help with our honeymoon costs. Now here’s the doozer – My fiance isn’t too comfortable accepting such a generous gift. Should I decline? Your thoughts?

Personally, I think I would take it. It won’t really cost his boss anything for you to stay there, will it? So while it is generous, he is not losing out at all, as the condo would otherwise be empty? Correct me if I am wrong.
If the boss was going to pay for your 2 weeks of accommodation I would definitely feel differently.
I say take it! You are so lucky to have this opportunity!

I agree with pohget. The value to you of this gift is extremely high… two free weeks! But it probably isn’t costing your boss hardly anything (if anything at all). I’d snap that offer up!

The only cost that your boss might pay for is someone to come in and clean after you’re done with the condo. Other than that, it isn’t costing your boss much. I would talk him up on his offer 🙂
