hi, this is the first time ever blogging, so be gentle if I mess this up. lol… I did not win the dress, but I am going to buy a dress discounted by galihad bridal. I did not think that I would be able to be apart of the discounting because I did not have any money, but after talking with the company, they are allowing me to buy a dress discounted. I would be interested to know if any other brides are going to buy from them or already have bought from them in the past. The original one that I wanted(from Casablanca) was going to cost me over a thousand dollars with everything. As much as I wanted it deep down I knew that I could not afford that kind of dress. But the dress that I chose from Galihad is similiar to the one that I originally wanted, but much cheaper.

As you know the economy is not doing so well, especially for those of us who live in Northern Michigan. With money being limited I have learned how to stretch my money. I have been getting things online, garage sales. Now that the wedding season is almost over, it is the right time to buy flowers. All the silk flowers are on sale because the stores are starting the get fall stuff in. Our wedding colors are lime green and fushcia. We are getting married May 22, 2010. I am excited, because I cant wait to spend the rest of my life with mr.S. I wish it was here already.Because of our faith, we do not believe in touching in a physical way until marriage.( I know that is hard to understand, but we both agree to wait)So I have not even held his hand, much less kissed him. BUT, it’s  not the physical that I cant wait for ( but will enjoy!!!) , it is the being together and not having to say goodbye at the end of the nite. As Mr. S. says to me every good thing is worth waiting for.

Hope everbodys planning is going well. I looked forward to hearing from more of you.

I’m curious what the contest is you entered? I think it is really great that someone out there is helping bride to bees. I’m sorry though that you two didn’t win.

It really bothers me because I’m concerned on who won, anyone can run that contest just so that we will want to do the discounted prices.  By nobody saying they won (which I think they would have explained how excited they were to have won) it makes me really wonder… I sure hope it wasn’t a made up contest though!

Hi my name is Liz I just got the message and I wanted to tell you guys that I also didn’t win. Now I really think that this whole contest was a fake. I’m sure that if there was a winner they would have replied by now.. What a bummer..

Stephans2010, that is so amazing! I could never imagine not even kissing my FI! You have such amazing self restraint. MY sister lived with her Fiance before they were married and agreed to wait also. Good for you.

My Fiance and I live in Portland. He works at Fred Meyer and I work across the street at Starbucks. Unfortunatly, his store is going through construction that significantly cuts both of our part time hours. He is also going to School, which makes things pretty hard, too.

Luckily we have a bunch of amazing people who are going to help with the wedding. We get to have it at my FBIL’s place outside, and my Sister’s Mother-In-Law wants to do the photograpghy as a gift. We are both so very blessed! I can’t wait for September 4th, 2010!

Thanks for starting the thred CountryCowGirl!

There is a program out there that offers free wedding dresses to deserving military fiance’s/wives with active duty deployed husbands. Some of them are designer stores!

I watched it on the news while my then-fiance was deployed and there wasn’t a store within 3 hours of where I lived! I was like, ‘Oh poo, not me!’ Granted, after hearing their stories, I decided they needed it more than me, as some of them had little children at home, were sick, and had to move in with their families, etc, and here I was with an engineering education and a guaranteed job. Even if your son/daughter/mother/father is really ill, the military doesn’t always let you come home unfortunately.

There really are some wonderful programs out there, though. Sorry to hear the one you guys applied to sounded more like a fake thing.

hi girls, here we go again, my second blogging moment. I have been thinking about the legitimacy of the contest too. I can only hope it was for real. I do want to buy a dress from them, but hope the company is good and the dress made of good quality. My mom checked out their paypal account, to see if it is a real account. We tried to check out the company , to see if we could find out if it is good or bad. We did not find anything out. So if I could get someone who knows how to research online companies to help us.  I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT.

thanks his barista, there are moments when we look deeply into each others eyes, that make it hard sometimes. We try not to put ourselves into a place of temptation.Plus, parents, brothers and sisters make for a great deterant. We are never alone. I know that our first kiss will be very special for the both of us on our wedding day. AND  our wedding nite exciting. I live with my parents and he lives in the dorms.

my mom came up with a great idea. Instead of floral centerpieces, and favors in containers. Why not  combine them. we are having koeze jars( nut jars that have 3D etching that make it look like crystal) We are using the jars filled with candy and a scoop and wrapping lime and fushia around it and having a scoop so each table can scoop their own favors. flowers are expensive and favors are just thrown away. We went to GOODWILL and spent on average 1.59 for each jar. plus yardsales have them sometimes for .25 cents to .10 cents for some.

cow girl, have you ever heard of light in the box? It sells cheap dresses from china. A friend bought her dress and it was nice.Another friend just bought from there too. It might help you. I love the weddingbee!!!!!! well hope you all have a great day.:)

I am not suprised by anything these days. I also know on other boards and on here, someone is listing a dress as once worn ect.. And i have seen the same pics on ebay for a chinese dress maker.Same model and different dresses.Offering to make any model. Or on the knot someone is listing a dress very popular ones and they are not sending the dress. Good scam if you ask me.. We brides are more apt to trust someone who is selling a wedding dress. Would you really send hundreds of dollars to someone you dont know say off of craigslist or something? I think this may have been a marketing ploy. And they do seem to have good deals , but i would not buy one seeing as how they got everyones hopes up and made us tell our personal story in the hopes that we would win a dress. And for what ever reason the women who entered really need one. I think that is shitty. ANd cruel. I still dont have a dress, and i didnt expect to win. I usually think anything to good to be true usaully is. Be for warned ladies and i wish you all the best of luck.
