lizziebee33 :  I think it is great that you want to do this but I think you would be better researching a charity in your country/area that provides this service and give it to them. Unfortunately there are scammers everywhere and how can you trust that the person you are giving the dress to really is in financial hardship?

There are some great charities out there that do great work with donated dresses. The two that spring to mind in the USA are brides against breast cancer and the one that gives donated dresses to active service women.

This is really generous of you. I disagree that you need a middle man to give the dress away through in this case. The way you’re going about it is super cool imo. I hope your dress finds a good home. Way to go. πŸ™‚

I’m not sure where you are but we have a place here called All About The Dress that takes donated wedding gowns free of charge to family members of the military who cannot afford the dresses on their own. She also provides formal dresses and gowns to teens who cannot afford prom dresses or the family members of first responders.

Hi OP. There is an amazing charity called the brides project that I donated my dress to after my wedding. You don’t have to clean it as they have volunteer dry cleaners that do it for them. There is one location in Toronto and one in Michigan. Check them out… pretty much all the profits go to cancer charities!
