Just wrap it tightly and keep it at room temperature.
I tried it and it doesn’t ruin the fondant but it makes it nearly impossible to wrap spread out again. I don’t know how long it lasts at room temp. Personally I make marshmellow fondant which is so cheap and easy that its not worth storing, lol.
I used to work at a from-scratch gourmet bakery with fondant. We wrapped it in plastic wrap and used it within a week or two. It can get hard.
