So…I really like my double french bustle from the back, but from the front it gives me a weird boxy silhouette. Is this normal? I sort of want her to fix this. I want my dress to look the same from the front, whether bustled or not.
Show me pictures of you from the FRONT (and back if you want) with your dress in a french bustle!!
Here is me without the bustle:

@sofiekitty: It’s still gorgeous though! I wouldn’t be concerned.
I have a french bustle, but my dress is a silk-satin ball gown so it really doesn’t affect the look from the front.

My bustle was kind of doing that and what we did was when we bustled it at the wedding, we kind of pushed those weird sides in. I wouldn’t worry too much about it because once you get your first dance over with, most of your pictures will be from the waist up and no one will notice the particularities of your bustle…not even you!

There just might not be enough skirt on your dress for a double and maybe there are the wrong number of points. My lace trumpet looked the same from the front when bustled.

My bustle did not affect the shape of my dress but my dress had a lot more fabric and wiggle room, yours is much more body hugging.

Thank you everyone for your kind words! I just can’t help but wonder if I made a mistake by not having her add the crinoline under the mermaid skirt to give it more pouf at the bottom. I asked about that recently but was told that since the dress is already hemmed, the only way that might work is for me to wear a lower heel or no heel at all. I feel like the bustle would look better from the front if I had more volume in the skirt….any thoughts??
