    Classy and elegant!

    Trashy, trashy, trashy!

Be careful, it can go either way!

I agree with PPs, trashy is too harsh but it is deffinatelty dated. If you like that kind of subtle look then why not get the softer pink/ beige colour without the white tip?

But at the end of the day, its all about what you like πŸ™‚

I don’t think it’s trashy, but I hate how they look, especially on acrylic nails. Yuck!

try the Shellac french manicure it will never chip and last for up to two weeks. For a bride to get her nails done and then get them messed up, is horrible.

I wear french mani at all times. So I think it loks nice. I like the way it looks I don’t have huge long nails but I have never thought of a french mani as trashy

I’d agree with the PP, that said “not trashy, but dated.”  I suppose if its done on your natural nails, which are fairly short, it looks ok, but I think a french manicure on acrylic nails does venture into trashy…

I’ll agree with PP’s “not trashy, but dated” as well. The last time I had my nails done that way, I was looking forward to them looking nice and sharp, but when I looked down at my hands, I thought, “Oh… yay.” French tips are kind of the “go-to” dressy nail. I think it’s starting to get a little old/boring.

Personally, I more often notice a short-ish, naturally shaped dark burgundy nail or a deep, blood red. I think things like that have a bit more personality. Especially for a wedding.

My wedding will be soft and rustic. But I intend to have dark vixen nails. Go with what you think is best! =]

I think a really nicely done french tip done on a natural nail can look really pretty. I personally feel that it’s the acrylic and the tips that make it look outdated or “trashy”. However, just like cash bars, it may very well be a regional thing when it comes to how people feel about a French manicure. πŸ˜‰ if you like it, do it! Btw, what on Earth is an American manicure?!?

I didn’t vote because there was no “neither” option. I honestly don’t think they are either classy or trashy since it’s up to the individual’s personal style of whomever is wearing it, and what other people think doesn’t matter in the least. Whether the nails are short or long, they aren’t affecting anyone either way, although calling them trashy is not necessary and is potentially very hurtful to some folks who prefer that style, simply because someone else doesn’t have the same tastes.

I was happy with my french manicure.  πŸ™‚  I am usually a color lady, but I wanted something simple and elegant for my wedding.  I did have them add a single crystal on each nail as well though…. πŸ˜›  AND for my toes, I wanted blue so that’s what I had!  lol

My natural fingernails pretty much suck most of the time, so for me, I wanted tips on.  *shrug*  There are always going to be people in the world that don’t agree with you.  In this case I think you should go with whatever *YOU* like best!

I think a french manicure on natural nails is beautiful.  I find the pink and white acrylic nails to be very 1992 and tacky.  They don’t look remotely real even when short.  In that same sense, I find all acrylic nails to be very tacky even when painted unless they are very thin (as opposed to those hideous thick tipped ones) with natural and fairly short curved tips as opposed to the squared off tips.
