I love myself a well done french manicure. Whether it be pink and white, gel nails or just regular polish with white tips, there’s just something in me that loves the sharp look of the white tip.
However, I have noticed that in the most recent years, french has taken a back seat to all over color. I think the trends these days are to have short, manicured nails with an all over polish rather than the white tip.
So what do you think?
Has the french manicure died out with modern brides?
Do you think that a pink all over polish is sweetest?
Should you have a pop of color like red if you have the personality for it?
Or should your nail color just simply match your lipstick?

I voted for pink! Not a fan of French manicure.

I did navy blue, and it looked awesome in photos! I’d suggest doing a color.

I said red – but I also like the idea of painting your nails to match your wedding colors!

I personally hate the way a French manicure looks, but if it is your style you should do whatever you want. I don’t like matchy-matchy: fingers and toes the same as lip colour. You could take a cue from your wedding colours if you like, I will probably have coral nails.

I love French manis done with soft white tips, as opposed to stark while, which looks kinda pornstarry. I also prefer natural nails by far. But if you have nail growth issues, I’d do an all-over colour on gel nails. But for shellac, both options would work well!

I can’t vote since none of the options fit what I am doing. My colors are fuchsia and orange and I am going with a slightly paler fuchsia. I’d vote for picking a color that matches with one of the wedding colors.

Do whatever you want.
I’ll likely have pale pink nails (and a French pedicure on my toes) done in gel polish. It’ll go with our wedding colors and the toes won’t clash with my shoes.

I’m doing red, but that’s one of our colors so it won’t look out of place. I’m very fair skinned and pale pinks look awful on me while rich reds look great.

@chickadea07: I had a modified Frech manicure–my sister is a nail artist, and used steel plates to do a white lace design on just the tips of my pink nails!

I think a short french mani is a good neutral if that’s what you like. But if your lip is “nude” I’d go with a sheer polish…always looks very neat.
I don’t think you should go red or pink if they aren’t in your color scheme, might clash with your bouquet? But if they are…I’d say go for red! Va-va-voom 🙂

@chickadea07: NO french mani!!!!!!!!!! Go with pink!

@chickadea07: I like French manicures but I feel like everyone I know had their nails like that for their wedding. I wanted something different. I decided to go with a light pink polish with rhinestone designs only on the ring fingers. Here is a pic of mine. Also I voted for the pink polish.

I had a french manicure (and pedi). I don’t generally wear nail polish on my fingernails so I didn’t want a stark solid colour. I had my tips very thin white though, not the thick look.

I like the less obvious American manicure versus French manicure. But pink is also cute!
