I have never had French, because it doesn’t really make sense to me.  I guess it is just an exaggeration of the natural fingernail.  But I love color! Every single color!  I used to work in banking as a teller, so my hands got stared at all the time.  I always got compliments on my unique colors.  One lady told me I needed to have my cuticles done… come to think of it.  What a strange comment.

I voted French, but I really prefer an American manicure…so put together and classy. I never get acrylics though, just gel polish and my real nails!

I like color too, but not huge fake tips with ombre and glitter…yuck.

In every day situations, color! But for the wedding I want neutral, clean nails so I will have French tips done.

If you want to stay elegant and timeless, go with a nude or pale pink color.

I think French manicures are over done, I will be doing a pale pink shellac!

I had a French manicure but with polish only (no tips, no gel, no shellac, no silk wraps, no acryllic.)

@Dialysate:  I’ve heard the term American manicure, but I actually don’t know if I know exactly what that is. From what I understand it’s similar to French, but yet different. Can you explain the difference?

I so desperately don’t want a french manicure for the wedding…though my aunt says it’s the only classy way to go about this.

I want color…but our accent color is lime green…and I’m not really up for all that.

So after a stint with a nude/glitter combo of sorts…I’ve moved toward a french manicure with a really crazy but pretty nail applique.  Surely it won’t be to everyone’s taste but it will give me that craaaazy that I love and will probably look sort of normal from far away.

I very rarely do my nails, but since I’m now in the “window” when he’s said he is going to pop the question, I went in and had them just do a clear polish. It is nice having them shaped and the cuticules taken care of, but the ladies gave me such a hard time for wanting clear polish! Oh well. I do first person living history presentations, and I need something that comes off easily!
