I always go with a pale pink color. French manicures look so dated to me.

I think French manicures are not that popular anymore.  I will have mine painted, but they will be painted a very natural pink or nude color.

I love light colored nude/ pink, like ‘ballet slipper’ nail color for wedding nails

I’m happy French manicures are going out of style… I have short stubby fingers, so the nude/pale pink styles that are trendy now kind of enlongate my fingers now! (what a dumb body issue to have… short fingers… haha)

French manicures seem “old” to me ans I dont like the thick white line of them. I prefer color!

gel color mani. I used to get acrylics all the time with french tips, but now i feel like they are sort of dated/teenage

I did a soft pink gel for the wedding

Omg this is why I come on the bee. On my wedding to-do list, I literally had “grow your nails long for french tips” but after seeing this, screw it! Pale pink/nude gels it is for the wedding!!! I really had no clue they were going out of style since I never ever ever get my nails done.

I agree that a French tip looks super dated. I’m a big fan of color and will be doing “Hey Sailor” red nails for the wedding.

I like both in general, I wear every color of the rainbow on my nails at different times, but for the wedding I’m set on a mid-to-short neutral nail (natural french or nude pink). I want it to be timeless and elegant, and I don’t want the focus to be on my fingernails!

A question for those who believe that French manicures look dated:  With which specific time period do you tend to associate them? I first recall having seen one in person when I moved to another state in the mid 1980s, and, from what I have read, they date back to Paris in the 1920s.

@Brielle:  I always used to get them about 10 years ago so I guess that’s what I think of…they remind me of my teenage days

When I do get my nails done, I like French for an everyday look. For the wedding though, I’m going fancy with color (pink or mauve) and some crystals.

Don’t mean to threadjack, but why is it traditional for brides to get neutral or light-colored nails? Is too much color distracting from the dress? Just curious; never understood this.

I don’t do manicures often myself because I get frustrated when they’re not perfect, but I paint my toenails all the time because I will wear sandals all summer, fall, sprung, whatever if I can.

My mom is trying to convince me to do French tip for the wedding but I’m not a fan of it so I plan on doing a neutral colored pink for my fingers and toes.

i like any color but I’m not into big, thick fake nails or glitter or decals or any other stuff.
