I have had a love for all things French since learning the language in High School… and last December, my bf proposed to me in Paris! So of course, I’ve decided on a Parisian wedding theme. But apparently, it not enough to have a theme. The new trend is to have a PHRASE now?! I need your creative juices to come up with a cool/creative common french phrase to tie up my paris theme and to create a backdrop with the phrase and for picture taking.
Some friends suggested “C’est la vie” however this phrase has a slightly negative conotation and therefore inappropriate for the occasion. Another suggestion was “La vie en Rose” however this means “my life in pink” and my wedding colors are green and purple, so its also inappropriate. My other friend suggested “‘the sweet life’ which I liked, however this phrase translated in french is not a common phrase and therefore doesn’t have the same impact.
Please PLEASE help me brainstorm on this. I would sincerely appreciate your help.

Date Twin!!! Funny enough, I was going to get married at the Paris in Las Vegas, and I was also going to have a Parisan theme. But, I am now getting married at the Bellagio because Paris didn’t hold enough people. Anywayz, you only want common French phrases?

Common in English, but maybe not so much in French…
Mangez bien, riez souvent, aimez beaucoup
My husband says “My whole heart for my whole life” was translated from French, but is having midnight brain on the translation 🙂

There is a really famous surrealist painting entitled ‘Ceci est la couleur de mes rêves’. It’s by Joan Miro and the painting itself is so charming. It is about rendering all dreams to a singular thing. One true and perfect thing … I could totally work a romantic parisian wedding theme around it …
Maybe at my next wedding 😉

Tout mon amour, toute ma vie (all my love, all my life)
I’ve never heard of needing a phrase though. That said, you could check out some French poets and see if anything catches your eye. 🙂
