With that short a distance, honestly I would just cab it. Your hotel bellman can hail a can for you while you wait inside if it’s raining, and it’ll Only cost around $10 each way. If you hire a car service it’s going to be a lot more than that, and usually with a minimum rental of a couple hours.

Where are you staying on Bourbon? Also, where’s your reception? If it’s just for you and your dad (or whomever is escorting you) consider a horse and buggy. Our reception was in the warehouse district and we had a pedi-cab bike us to Cafe Du Monde. Hah.

I agree on a carriage ride! Mid-City Carriages has all white wedding carriages and white horses. This is more elegant than your typical New Orleans horse and buggy that park in front of Jackson Square. Great photo opportunity ! After the ceremony you can always second line to Arnauds. If the weather is bad that morning you can call a pedicab service to be waiting for your guests outside the cathedral.
