I had orchids! We put them in right before we started (not at the hairdresser) and they were slightly wilty after 8 hours but not brown.

It may depend on the flower, but I don’t see much difference between flowers in your hair to boutonnieres…they’re both flowers out of water all day, and boutonnieres usually hold up pretty well, so I doubt putting flowers in your hair would be any different. The slight amount of wilting that will inevitably happen probably won’t be very noticable, anyway 🙂

I was in a wedding Sunday… And the only thing I think that held up WAS the flowers in the bride’s hair. It was like a tsunami and humid so I think it would be fine. Her’s were dahlias.

I was a bridesmaid in May, and we had flowers throughout our fishtail braids. They lasted and looked great!

pussinboots07 :  I had real cream-coloured roses in my hair (from Costco, not even a florist) and they looked beautiful and fresh for at least 14 hours, didn’t wilt at all! 🙂

Generally speaking flowers in the hair are more vulnerable to wilting because of the he at from your head.  Some flowers are worse ie tulips and others better ie gypsum(baby’s breath).  Roses and dahlias – heart flowers are good but flowers that are prone to heat like peonies and hydrangeas as well as tulips. Tulips will just open up and eventually its petals will fall off.

I had a fresh flower crown and I danced until midnight in it and it was fine! I mean if you looked at it closely afterwards it was a bit worse for wear, but you couldn’t notice when I was wearing it. I don’t know all the flowers in it but there were definitely tea-roses. And something like babies breathe would be totally fine since it basically just dries and looks the same instead of wilting.
