I got a little bored tonight, so started throwing some ideas together.
Originally, I nixed the idea of eiffel tower vases, as they were getting a bit expensive, so I decided to make smaller ones for the candy buffet. My fi REALLY loves the look of them!
They are a little fluffy at the moment because I JUST put them together. They cost me about $10 each, but they aren’t as big as the average ones. I bought the vases from a fellow bee for $5 each, and they each took about 100 feathers to make. I still have 3 more to go.
Here they are all assmbled :
And with the lights off!
I also started putting together my kissing balls! So excited about these. I LOVE how they turned out!
And up close :
And lastly, make a mock up of my card holder.. not sure if i’ll keep it this way, can’t decide!
Sorry for the crappy phone pictures.
What did you ladies do tonight? Any great diy projects?

Wow! I didn’t do anything last night, but you did an amazing job on your decorations! I’m impressed 🙂
What are you using in the base of the vases to light/frost them?

The kissing balls are so pretty! Where/how do you plan to use them? Forgive me if this is an obvious question…

WHat is with the fuzzy stuff on top of your vases?

Wow those all look awesome. For the card box I would probably add something more at the bottom, maybe more pink ribbon? I believe those are flowers on top her card box. What tutorial did you follow for your kissing balls? I love them!!

Wow looks like you really focused! What did you put in the vases to make them light up like that?

@MmeSilverBullet: They are frosted glasses, I bought them that way. The lights are submisable lights. They actually fit in the mouth of 3 of the vases, and 2 of them they don’t.
For the 2 that don’t fit, scoop out a part of the styrofoam ball holding all the flowers together and fit the light in there, hopefully, snug.

@imabridesmaid: Hanging off shepard’s hooks down the aisle!

@jehembee: They are ostrich feathers, they are kind of everywhere right now, they need to sit for a few days to droop more.

@TattooedChick23: Yes, I was thinking about some bling mesh, but I held it up and it was kind of meh. I would like to make a big bow or something but I’m horrible at bows!
I actually didn’t use a tutorial, I just went on a whim and they were super easy.
I used foam flowers because I wanted a more realistic look [well, they still look fake but not as fake as silk!].
I used a 2″ styrofoam ball, and used 6 flowers to make a ring around the ball. [I used diamonite pins w/ hot glue on the ends to keep them in place. Then I used 3 flowers on each side to fill in. [For a total for 12 flowers used].
They were VERY very easy. They did cost me about $6.60 each for all of the materials, but i think the are a little bit cuter than the average kissing ball with the bling!

@mkelove: They are pink submisable lights.
