I’ve never been to a wedding on a Friday but I think it’ll be ok. Most ppl consider the weekend to begin Friday afternoon anyway. I’d just advise letting ppl know not only the date but the actual day bc some ppl might just assume its on a Saturday. Also for the ppl who might work on Friday’s so they have time to make the proper arrangements. So don’t worry! I have a friend who’s planning to get married on a Sunday…O.o

I personally would love to go to a Friday wedding, it’s an extra day to recover.

One of my best friends got married on a Friday evening.  It was a beautiful candlelit ceremony, and people were ready to party at the end of the week.  Since the ceremony started later (thus dinner later) she decided to have limited cocktails and light appetizers prior to the ceremony while the bridal party was doing pictures.

@callibrittany:  we’re having a friday evening wedding, and so far the friends we have who are in 9-5 jobs haven’t complained about it at all. in fact i think they prefer it, especially compared to a sunday wedding, because they can let loose and enjoy without worrying about the morning after.

Actually, I didn’t realize it until you posted this but the wedding I just got an invite for is for 7 PM on a Friday! It’s this summer and I know I can still make it.  I am actually a little confused now.  I’m so used to weddings being on Saturdays…. I mean, I will still go and enjoy it but actually, IDK, I feel like it’s a little weird because of work on fridays and stuff but if it’s in the summer it makes a little bit more sense.  Not my favourite time for a wedding but it doesn’t bother me and if it was my only option then I would take it.

We are doing one. I feel really bad for a few of our friends who have regular jobs and are going to need to figure out how to take time off work to get to our ceremony on time.

However a substantial number of our guests are teachers and so weekdays mean nothing to them in the summer. 🙂 So that helped us not feel like we were putting too much of a burden on our guests.

We are also having a friday wedding. It was much cheaper, plus we are having it later in the evening with an open bar so it gives the guests all weekend to recoup 🙂

I don’t see anything wrong with it, but I’d definitely have it no earlier than 7.. I’m sure people will want to go home and get ready before the ceremony instead of coming straight from work.

Date twins!

My Fiancé and I actually met at a Friday wedding, so that helped influence our choice to go with a Friday (not to mention the $7,000 less price tag!)

Those who love us will make the room in their schedules for it:)

Personally, I don’t like going to weddings on Fridays because I am just way too exhausted from the work week.  Plus it’s difficult to get to the ceremony if you’re working and can’t take a half day.

I’ve been to a Friday wedding.  The only thing I didn’t love was that it was earlier on Friday (I want to say 4:30 or 5) which required I come straight from work.  If it had been an hour later I think it would have been great!  I agree that it was nice to unwind after a long week and still have 2 days after to enjoy!
