dmw416 : We are having a Sunday morning wedding with a brunch reception. Our wedding is a 2 hour flight and 90 minute drive for all of our guests.
I asked my guests which way they’d prefer and most said Sunday morning was easier. They could theoretically get home in time for work Monday, but could also stretch the weekend if they wanted. Friday evening was cutting it too close and would require them to take more time off to make it.
It’s also usually the less expensive option. Venues charge less for use and meals are more affordable as well. Finally, your alcohol bill is likely to be lower, since people usually aren’t drinking heavily at brunch. 😉

I guess there really is no such thing as a convenient destination wedding, haha. I know our families (15 out of the 48ish guest list) will be there for either day so that helps. I think I will just ask the other guests who I REALLY want there what would work best for them. I know not everyone will come, but I also know a lot of my friends will come no matter how inconvenient. So I just want those friends to WANT to come and be excited about it, not feel inconvenienced and obligated. Hopefully getting a free place to stay on an island helps some though! 🙂
I’m still VERY early in the planning process so just feeling it out right now. Thanks everyone for your input!

Friday. I’d take half a day on Thursday and a full day on Friday and still have my entire weekend. Sunday is a no go for me.
