At first I was opposed, and now I am almost positive that we’ll have a Friday wedding.
My Fiance and I are living overseas right now, we got engaged last September, and want a Summer 2013 wedding (June). We won’t be back to the states until Thanksgiving this year, and I have a feeling we aren’t going to have much luck with venues. I’m pretty picky and obviously can’t book something sight unseen. I am thinking I’ll have more choices if we’re going with a Friday wedding, and since it’s summer, people will be more likely to take time off right? After all, Will and Kate got married on a Friday 🙂

I’m having a Friday wedding in October. It was cheaper and all the Saturdays for September and October were booked at our venue. It was either push the wedding up by a month and a half or get married on an “off” day. We chose the latter and are completly happy with taht choice. :o)

We’re having a Friday wedding. Our venue was completely booked for all Saturdays in 2012 and a lot in 2013 (and this was last December!). We didn’t want to wait another 6 months-year. We wound up with a photography discount for choosing an off day and about the only thing we had to do was push the ceremony time to 6 to allow people time to come from work!

Friday weddings are gaining popularity so if you wait to book thinking that won’t have a problem because it’s a Friday you very well may be mistaken. We booked our wedding venue over a year in advance and we only had a choice of 3 Fridays for the whole fall season. If you have a lot of venues to choose from you may be okay but if options are limited, I wouldn’t be surprised if the dates have already been booked.

Do it! We got a discount for booking a friday as opposed to a saturday! In the middle of summer as well – fantastic! I think people worry that guests won’t be able to come to a Friday wedding, but the reality is if they love you, they will come!
