None what so ever. Actually, our wedding has solidified the fact that I now prefer Fridays over Saturday weddings. We had a fantastic experience with no regrets.

Nope. It was a convenient day, especially when your engagement is less than a year. Fridays are more accessible. It was also great because a lot of people were psyched about having a 3-day weekend if they took off for the wedding. Majority of our guests RSVP’d yes despite it being on a work day.

I would recommend also a Friday wedding because then Satuday if you have a lunch and gift opening you can do that and then Sunday you can relax and enjoy your hubby before going back to work Monday (if that is what you choose to do).

I’m excited about our Friday wedding ๐Ÿ™‚ we’re having an informal BBQ at my brothers house on saturday for the Out of Town guests and friends we don’t get to see that often. It gives you a lot of flexibility with weekend festivities!

We loved it and got a lot of people complimenting having a Friday wedding! It allowed family who flew in an extra day to hang out with relatives before flying back home. And it put less pressure on us to host a day long event. Pretty much was 5pm wedding, then dinner/reception, dancing fun!

Absolutely not! None of our declines had to do with the fact that we got married on a Friday, and then everyone had the entire weekend to recover. It was perfect! I agree with others – I think Friday weddings are fabulous!

    Nope, not one bit.

We had an amazing wedding, saved thousands of dollars and only a few people weren’t able to attend wit it being a Friday (most of our guests made the effort and arrangements to be there).

Also, I loved having two days after our wedding to relax and spend time with our out of town family. We didn’t feel rushed or pressured at all.

@Treejewel19:  I can’t wait for ours – for some reason since i was little I never pictured myself getting married on a Saturday duriing the day. Friday 5pm just feel so right, and so far anyone who knows of has been confirming the right date (invites just went out two days ago) for booking off work. People who want to be there and not make it being about an inconvenience to them will make the effort to be there and I love those people!!

I am so glad we’re getting married on a Friday. We got some major discounts including £600 (about $940) off our videography.

And I just had to find a new make-up artist with five weeks to go. Would never have found someone decent with a Saturday free at this short notice.

i heart this thread! sometimes i feel nervous about our friday wedding, but its great to hear how happy everyone was with it!

@Treejewel19:  that is one of the things i am most excited for, having the rest of the weekend for us, rather than losing it all to the wedding and ensuing hangover ๐Ÿ˜‰

Having a non-traditional day, Friday, meant that we were the only wedding that day ๐Ÿ™‚ We got a lot more perks thrown in to seal the deal too ๐Ÿ™‚ Loved it!
