I’m not having a Friday wedding, but the two locations I’m looking at are around $500-$1000 cheaper for a Friday/Sunday. That’s just the rental price; their package includes are the same. I think the only benefit might be the cost, honestly.

The venue that I am looking at is $1000 cheaper for a Friday or a Sunday wedding. Plus usually you have a better chance of getting the date you want if its on a Friday or Sunday.. At least going by what I’ve experienced so far.

Our venue was $2000. cheaper, so it was significant. Other costs were the same.

We’re having ours on the Friday of Labor Day weekend and we saved $20/plate at our hall. HUGE difference when you start adding up your guests. We have a larger wedding, so we saved $5,000 with the Friday hall discount. It’s also been easier to reserve other vendors since Saturdays are usually the first wedding day of the week to fill up. Some even offer extra incentives just so they have that date filled in their books! So definetly ask if they can offer you anything extra with a Friday wedding! Good luck!

I’m saying 3.5k on a Sunday wedding for our reception venue. Our ceremony didn’t charge any difference.

I haven’t booked the other larger vendors yet but i’m pretty sure i’ll save money on all of them for a Sunday wedding.

We got discounts on our venue, photographer, and our band due to having a Friday wedding. We probably saved close to $5000 by doing a Friday.

My venue knocks off $1400, then 10% of the remaining amount for food, ceremony fee, cake, etc. I also got a 10% discount from my photographer and $150 discount from our DJ.

The extra bonus (for me at least) is that my mom insisted on adding some people to the guest list that I don’t really want to be there and it sounds like the Friday date is deterring them from coming. Everyone I really want to be there has made arrangements. Could be a pro or a con, depending on what your guest list situation is, but it’s a pro for me. 🙂

We’re saving well over $5,000 by having a Friday wedding. The biggest savings came from the reduced food/beverage minimum and rental fees for our venue. I’ve come across a number of vendors who offer discounts for Friday/Sunday weddings as well as for Saturday afternoon weddings. 🙂

We are saving $8,000 on the venue to have it on a Friday!  Our vendors had no discounts for a Friday wedding.

Our band was 2k cheaper, our reception hall was 3k cheaper, florist 1k cheaper, and on and on…all for a Friday! Best part – you have the whole weekend to party/recover!

Wow, these are significant savings. May I ask what people’s guest list numbers are? There doesn’t seem to be quite as big a difference on savings with a small wedding (50-75 people, which is what we’re estimating ours at).
