@NJmeetsBX: We would have had just an evening wedding no matter which day we had it on; I was way too overwhelmed to think about planning welcome dinners and post wedding brunches and things, and I feel like NYC is not very conducive to that anyway.
We had about 150 people.

We are saving about $2000 for having a Friday wedding. About $1500 for the venue and $500 for the photographer.

@hilsy85: I meant, are you having a ceremony at say 3 or 4 and then the reception afterwards? Or are you doing everything later in consideration for the folks that have to work on Friday (say a 6PM ceremony followed by reception)?

- Wedding: May 2011 - The Royal Park Hotel
@NJmeetsBX: We’re having a 6PM ceremony with a reception immediately following. Initially I was leaning towards a later 6:30PM ceremony, but our venue is pretty strict on the starting time!
Our target guest list is 60 people.

@NJmeetsBX: Ah ok. We did a 7pm ceremony. If we had a Saturday wedding, I think the earliest we would have done would have been 6pm, so it wouldn’t have made a huge difference.

@bellagio Our guest list is around 40 (give or take some). $1000 off was huge for us because I’m really trying to keep our wedding around $3000-4000

Nothing since our wedding date is considered a holiday. However they did not charge us at a holiday rate.

@bellagio: we have 250 guests
NJmeetsBX: we’re doing Friday evening, 6:30pm ceremony. We wanted to make sure people had time to get there if they’re working the full day.

@bellagio: about 250-275
though we are praying that only 230 will show up >.<
