Are you British ? Rings are a lot smaller over there. I’m from New Zealand & live in auckland. Your ring would be considered large here. Most have between 0.3 – 1 carat.

I think it is BEAUTIFUL! I had the same “problem” when I recieved my ring. The center stone is a moissanite thats a little over 2ct equivalent and my ring size is a 6. I am 24 and still in school so the people in my social circle rarely have rings that are even close to 1ct. I’ve had lots of snarky comments about how much it “sticks out” or similiar remarks. I just brush it off because it’s exactly the size I wanted. Beside, shrinkage is real and it’ll start looking smaller the longer you wear it. As long as you are happy with it (and you should be, it’s gorgeous!) that’s all that matters ๐Ÿ™‚ Here’s my ring for reference.

it is very big, but it’s gorgeous.

out of curiosity–is this “friend” someone who enjoys telling you why your choices are worse than hers?  The ONLY person who called my ring “huge” in a disdainful way is someone I realized right around then loves bringing me (and presumably everyone else) down for not making the only rational decision (hers) about pretty much anything and everything.  She didn’t do it ALL the time so it took a few years for me to notice, but she did it about pretty much any major decision (e.g. car purchase, ring purchase) that we did around the same time.

Anyway, ignore people like that.  They’ve got a problem, but it isn’t your problem.

I think it’s freaking glorious. I can see why you’d feel awkward if a ring that size is so rare there but I find it breathtaking. Forget the rude comments. It shows there’s a problem with your friend’s manners and NOT with your ring. Wear it proudly; it’s beautiful!

It’s very pretty. It would be too much for my taste but that doesn’t mean you can’t rock it. Not everyone has the same style, I wouldn’t overthink your friend’s comment.

chocobo124 :  hey USA bee here, I LOVE your ring. I would NOT let what others say about your absolutely GORGEOUS ring bother you. Perhaps they’re jealous! Wear that beauty with pride! <3

It is a great size on you and it is stunning.  I would not listen to one word from that “friend”.  Wear it in health and happines.

chocobo124 :  I honestly think if people are jealous, they will judge no matter what. Can’t please them all!
