Alright girls. Honest opinions – for a girl who has fallen in love with Manolo Blahnik’s Clausado d’Orsay ($775)…do Stuart Weitzman’s Jumbo ($325) even compare? Trying to convince myself to come back down to earth.
Here’s the Stuart Weitzman Jumbo:
And here are my first loves:
And here is my dress:
I’m pretty sure they’re both beautiful shoes, but after falling in love with Manolos, it’s hard to go back! Help bring me back down to earth please!

Siiigh I totally feel your pain! To me, the Manolos are just so much more luxurious looking–although that might just be the photography 🙂 I’m pretty sure you can order SW shoes on Zappos, so you can always return them if you don’t love them in person! And that is a lot of money to save by going with the SWs.

Sorry I love the manolos, but the stuarts might be more comfortable. I have a thin heel and it pops out of manolo shoes.

Oh man, I feel your pain. Those Manolos are GORGEOUS.

I think that if you can afford them, go for the monolos. Both shoes are beautiful, but if you have fallen in love with the shoes, then I say go for it!
Personally, I can’t imagine spending that much on shoes, I’m just cheap like that though lol

Sighs! Thanks girls! Yes, I have no intention of spending $800 on shoes, so it’s killing me how much I love them. It’s not factored into my budget, so getting the Manolos is pretty much out of the question (my dress only cost $945) – why would I get a pair of shoes that cost almost as much as my dress! Haha.
Anyone want to toss in any other cheaper suggestions (I’m topping at $350 budget wise)?

@pengoala: Well on the pro side for the Manolos, you can wear them for long after your wedding, so at least you’ll get a lot of use out of them! 🙂

I actually like the Stuarts more.

Both are pretty…but really…they are just blue pumps with bows. For that kind of money, i’d really expect something more unique or showstopping about them.

For a much less expensive version, there’s always this:
For that much less money, I might be willing to put up with the less attractive heel. Especially under my dress (people might see your toes, but heels are less likely).

No one will see the shoes. Try them both on in a store before deciding to see which is more comfortable.

I do love those manolos… I have such a thing for blue shoes. The SW’s are nice.. but the blue seems REALLY bright. That could just be the photography though.
What about these Nina shoes off of zappos? http://www.zappos.com/nina-electra-china-blue
I also like these Enzo shoes, but not certain if you’re looking for patent leather: http://www.zappos.com/enzo-angiolini-mezzo-dark-blue-patent

I have loved Manolo’s for years and years. And I never could bring myself to spend the gargantuin amount of money it takes to buy a pair, nor could I find something special enough to buy them for. Until the wedding… then I realized I not only would be fufilling one of my long time dreams to own a pair, but also have something really special and unique for my wedding. Something that I would be able to wear time and time again. The cost is high, yes. But the quality and luxury of Manolo’s is beyond. I’m so glad I bought my shoes. Here’s mine:
I NEVER endorse spending money you don’t have or having to put something on a credit card. If you don’t have the cash you shouldn’t buy them. But… if you do the money for your Manolo’s, and they are something you will wear again and cherish as I do mine, then I say you should get them.
The other shoes are beautiful!! And if you get those they will go so beautifully with your dress!!! But they aren’t Manolo’s. And if you ever get a pair you’ll know why. They are truly beyond. I chose my shoes before my dress. I’m a shoe lover, always have been.
Get the Manolo’s ONLY if you can afford them. If not, I think your alternatives are so prefect!!

P.S. It’s NOT just the photography, the blue of the Manolo’s really is that bright in person.
I know you’re budget is set. So was mine. I worked extra shifts at work and spent my rainy-day-saving-up-for-something-really-special-money to get mine. I didn’t use any of the wedding budget. I told myself that if I couldn’t get up the last $500 for the shoes that I would get something else. I wanted them so bad though, so working an extra shift or 2 was way worthit!! If you can do something like that and then use the $300 budgeted toward shoes maybe you can have the shoes of your dreams.

I agree with pilotsgirl09…where there’s a will there’s a way! Your wedding is 8 months away–that’s $100 a month that you need to set aside minimum…which can be reasonable (cut out dinner out twice a month…two less movie dates a month…etc). I prefer the “lazy” bow on the MB’s more than the one on the Weitzmans.
I’ve never worn Manolos because they are a little bit too ornate for me (but still very beautiful)…but I own CL’s and Choos and I really do believe they are more comfortable. One pair of Choos in particular are so old they could probably be considered ‘vintage’ lol but with TLC they hold up very well and still look new. The Weitzmans will more than likely be comfortable enough for the wedding, so it’s a matter of which one you like better!
Having said that–your wedding WILL go on, and the pics will be beautiful regardless of which shoe you get
