I don’t know about this. I think that you might think she’s a closer friend to you than she thinks she is. Sometimes it’s like that.

@StarIzInkd:  go ahead and ask. Just tell her you want to understand.

@StarIzInkd:  I would be really hurt and I’m horrible with confronting friends too! Sometimes I feel like the best way for me to deal with it is to just write an e-mail or a letter. She may not think she has damaged your relationship in doing this, and she has a right to know so she can take steps to repair it. She may have just had a total panic a few months ago and dropped out, only to later realise that she could manage this other friends wedding. Perhaps her other friend threw a fit or wouldn’t take no for an answer, while your friend kind of took advantage of you being understanding about it.

Either way, talk to her!

@StarIzInkd:  Don’t think of it as confrontation. It’s an important talk to have with a close friend. “Hey, I was kind of blindsided to realize that you dropped out of my wedding, but then stood up in a wedding two states away. Can you help me understand that decision?”

@StarIzInkd:  I’m glad that you asked and hopefully you feel closer now?

Perhaps she couldn’t do two weddings and she felt that you would be the most understanding of the two brides if she dropped out?

@StarIzInkd:  Have you talked to her and asked her if she’s in this other wedding party and if yes did you ask her why she can be in that one and not yours?
