One week, however, I did not know that he had it. So, I was not technically waiting. I am baffled that men by rings way in advance, strange. I did not know about this until after I found the site.

nani9 :  I don’t think it is strange to buy the ring in advance if they have a particular event, date or general idea of when they want to propose, becuase then they can be sure it is in and ready when they need it.

But what I don’t understand is why on earth a guy would TELL his gf he bought the ring and then not give it to her for a while… that just seems cruel and tasteless. I don’t feel bad for the girls who obsess over it and ruin their own surprise by snooping tho… let ’em stew and wait! lol

He had it for about a week before he proposed. I knew it was being made about two months ahead of time so it didn’t stop me from going a little nuts. My advice: try and stay calm and set a date far in advance when you expect him to propose and convince yourself of that so you don’t think every date night could be the night

sboom :  This is what I was talking about, I really don’t get it? Buy the ring, keep it to yourself, why does the girl know about it? Blows my mind.

About 4 days I think…it was burning a hole in his pocket! I didn’t know he had it though.

sboom :  Yes, but some ladies here have waited over 6 mths. Thats overkill, especially if the women knows he has it. I find it silly.

nani9 :  if they only know he has is because they snooped I don’t have sympathy. If he told them he has the ring or has suggested that he has one or will be proposing soon yeah that is frustrating as hell.

whiteheadtobe :  ah ok that makes sense then 🙂

I unfortunately have known friends who have gone into debt to buy a ring… Not good. Especially because they never even ended up getting married in the end. Ouch.

My husband had it for about 2 months. He got it sometime in April and wanted to wait till I graduated in May and was going to ask when we were on a weekend trip at a beachhouse we were renting in July, but those plans fell through and he asked me on my birthday in June (a year ago) instead.

I definitely was not expecting it and didn’t even know he was thinking about proposing, it was a surprise for sure.
