We designed it a month before. Day of he picked it up at 10:30 and proposed at 5:30 when I got home. So technically 7 hours, but basically immediately.

He ordered it online.  It took about 2 weeks to ship and he proposed about 10 days after it was delivered.

whiteheadtobe :  my engagement was Surprise but my fiancé got my ring on the weekend and proposed on a Monday. He didn’t even get it sized because he was so excited to propose. I’m confused why a man would wait after he has the ring in hand? Unless he has a grand scheme

In my case it’s going to be 2 weeks tomorrow since he bought the ring. I know for a fact he is trying to surprise me… So the waiting is part of it.

I am fine with it… and somehow feel he might do it at the finish line of the first marathon we will be running together (first for him, second for me). In that case, I will be waiting for 7 more weeks. To be honest, that would be EPIC, especially considering running plays such a big part in our lives, and I have no problem with a very public proposal. But again, I might be wrong. The reason why I now have this suspicion is because a week or so before buying the ring I heard him asking one of my close friends who also runs with us if she thought a marathon proposal is a good idea. Clearly he was asking “generically”, but who knows.

I calculate it might have been a month

We custom ordered the ring a month ago and have about a month to go until it arrives. I won’t know when it’s done or when he has it but if you include building time it’ll probably be about 3-4 months total until we’re engaged from start to finish.

Less than a month but I wasn’t privy as to when he purchased it. Found out after the proposal.

He bought the ring in February, and it was sized and back to him by the end of March. Despite telling me he would not make me wait long (he told me about the ring, I did not snoop), it’s been almost 6 months. I’ve brought it up and I have no idea what is going on with him. He gets upset with me for being stressed about it and tells me it’ll happen. There’s no reason to wait. To be honest I’m about fed up with it.
