Hi bees!
I know I’m not the only one that had severe dress regret after shopping and bringing home photos of ourselves in sample gowns. I know there’s a thread floating around with before/after from store photo to wedding, but I’m curious to see if anyone felt relieved after receiving their actual gown.
This is from the salon. I was 20lb heavier and the sample looked sad and dingy. It was also way too long for my 5′ frame so I had no idea how the gown would end up on me. Outside I was ecstatic, but deep down really afraid:

This is my actual gown. The skirt was shortened to my height and it’s in my size. Still not great quality photos, but the gown finally looks right!

Phew! Show me your before/after!

YAY I love this! π You’re looking so fantastic! I’m so glad the alterations are working out!
Since you’ve asked, here it is!
Here I am in the sample:

Then after I brought it home from alterations:

After Hair/Makeup Trial with necklace and crinoline!

Then of course, Wedding Day!

The sample

Mine, which I could really tell the difference against the sample, much more crisp in colour

Here is me in the sample. It was many sizes too big and I wasn’t a fan of the beading, but overall I liked everything else about it.

Here’s my actual dress.

Here is me trying my dress on :

And here is my actual dress!
It still needs minor alterations, and to be shortened mostly. (I was standing on phonebooks!)
