I’ve been doing so much shopping around for lighting for my front entryway and just can’t find something that I love.
My preference is a chandelier-style light but we have a fairly low ceiling so I think I will need a flushmount or semi-flushmount light.
I don’t mind this one but am not sure how I feel about it in the front entryway:
I could also go with one like this… but is it too boring for a front entryway?
I’d love to hear if you ladies have any suggestions because I want to make a decision so I stop driving myself crazy shopping around!

Those are basically the same light – both equal levels of neutral (or “boring” as you put it 😉 ). Looks like you have a streamlined modern style? Most pendants can be shortened to any length, so that may open up options for “fun” styles. Have you checked out the new Young House Love lights on shadesoflight.com (they even have a 10% off coupon for there – yhl10 I believe?)? I particularly love their basket weave pendants. You could shorten the code to about 4-6 inches, no problem. Hard to make recommendations without knowing your colors, and what the furniture/colors in your entryway look like, you know?

I like the first one the best.

How many watts is each light?
Aesthetically, I like the first one better. But it would depend on how much light it gives off and how low it hangs.

I love the shape of the first one!! I think it could be great in an entryway. It sounds like you don’t love either though.
Do you have a picture of that your entryway looks like? Or the style of your house? Does the sliver go with the rest of the finishings in your house?

Thanks for all the feedback. I ended up ordering the first one. We’ve been redoing our house room-by-room. We’ve done all the floors with a medium brown stain and we installed new thick white baseboards. The walls are painted a beige colour. I’m now working on window treatments and lighting. I feel good about ordering the first light fixture that I posted. Thanks again 🙂
