My fiance and I are doing a Frozen/Disney/winter themed wedding in a Catholic church. The prelude music is a mixture of Disney princess songs (since the bridesmaids are dressing as Disney princesses) and the theme song from Home Alone (Somewhere in My Memory).
We chose the wedding date we did because it’s close to Christmas – I LOVE Christmas – but it won’t interfere with anyone’s holiday plans. Can’t do any Christmas music during Advent (which stinks), but I am open to suggestions for a bridal processional song.
Prelude songs include:A
Somewhere in My Memory (Home Alone)
Beauty and the Beast
Part of Your World (Little Mermaid)
A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes (Cinderella)
Someday My Prince Will Come (Snow White)
Once Upon a Dream (Sleeping Beauty)
not sure what Frozen song to pick, but not Let It Go. That’s the bouquet toss song at the reception (bad pun, but still).

I feel like the Frozen songs are too upbeat for your walk down the aisle but I think Love is an Open Door would be a great recessional song. I’m not familiar with the Bambi or Zelda songs. So out of your choices I would say When You Wish Upon a Star. Have you considered I See the Light from Tangled? I know it’s lesser known but the lyrics seem kind of perfect and I think the pace would be a good fit. TBH, I haven’t seen the movie but I always think of DH when I hear it. Also, Be Our Guest is an awesome song to play when they start serving the food at your reception.

Is your church letting you even use non-religious songs? I know my church doesn’t, which is a bummer, but double check that before you get disappointed if you haven’t already! If you can use whatever songs you like, Love is an Open Door is definitely my pick 🙂

I’m jealous about your freedom in choosing non-religious songs! Our catholic church is really strict, we’re not allowed to play here comes the bride. Also, I really love the theme song to Home Alone, I’m not ashamed to say that I listen to that all year and not just christmas time.
Agree with PPs that Frozen songs are all pretty upbeat.I would choose the song from bambi when you are walking in, and love is an open door for the recessional.

Only instrumental stuff and only before the wedding, the processional, and on the way out. During the actual Mass, it has to be church music.

Before I read your options I immediately thought of Beauty and the Beast.
What about True Love’s Kiss from Enchanted? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uk0ZaY3aC_s

I would be very interested in seeing your bridesmaids’ dresses. Each one is going to dress up as a different Disney princess?

Here’s a link to my Pinterest board that has all the dresses on it…except mine. If you wanna see that, I can make that happen too 🙂 Bridesmaid Gowns

I feel like the home alone song is a bit out of place for a Disney themed wedding.
That being said, my wedding isn’t Disney themed but I will be walking down the aisle to A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes

Love Is An Open Door has always been a little icky to me because of who Anna sings it with…but if you can look past that, it could be nice. I second the At Last I See The Light suggestion!

Yeah, Hans is pretty much a jerk, but remember – Elsa was initially supposed to be the villain until they heard Let It Go – then they changed the villain to Hans. Hans, therefore, ‘becomes bad’ later in the film – he’s not all bad. The power Anna gives him over Arendelle corrupted him. He was, at least in theory, a decent guy before that.

When you wish upon a star is perfect!!

I don’t think “Love is an open door” is a good wedding song 🙁 the lyrics talk about being not right for each other yet thinking you are. Hans might not have been the “initial” villain, but he was definitely not conceived as a hero.
Overall, I think its tricky to use Frozen’s soundtrack as most people know or recognize the lyrics and might be more focused on following the song in their heads than paying attention to their surroundings.
But, in any case, what about Frozen Fever? “Making today a perfect day” sound nice in piano.

Just promise me you’ll post pictures of this because I feel like I have to see how this comes together!
