I hear story after story of people saying there was too much food during cocktail hour and they didn’t have an appetite left for dinner. What you’re offering is plenty.

As long as there is enough for each person then there shouldn’t be an issue with what you’re planning to serve!

I don’t think there should be any big problems with it. Since your wedding starts later, those people who are used to eating earlier will have a chance to grab a snack beforehand, should be fine.

Fruit, bread and cheese are quite filling foods, so as long as there’s enough to go around (everyone gets a chance to eat some) then it should be fine! Don’t even worry about it.

I have a similar timeline as you, and I will be doing the same thing with fruit, cheese, and crackers, so I think you’re good!

I had no food at all at our cocktail hour and have never been to a wedding that did so I think it’s plenty. Granted dinner is often a little earlier but if you have guests that are picky like me and are worried they’ll be hungry they’ll probably eat before regardless.

It will be fine.  Not every wedding has cocktail hour even when there is a gap.

I sometimes think we as brides get so caught up in making things perfect and all etiquette like that we forget it is Our Wedding and the people are there to share this day with us.  Not for the food or the favors and Decor – but to be with us on a wonderful special day.  Remember that and don’t worry about it to much.

seem that the more food you offer the more they eat and then they complain they couldnt eat dinner – what you have would be fine for me, knowing that dinner will be soon

Glad you posted this.  My guest list is out of control and I am going to cut back on cocktail hour to have more money for dinner.   So fruit, cheese and crackers it is!

It’s only 45 minutes? Then yes, it’s enough, but make sure everyone can have some… ask a caterer if you aren’t sure of the amount.
