So I’ve been thinking about favors…. The city we’re getting married in is our hometown and it’s named Orange. Most of the people coming to the wedding do not live in Orange, so I thought it might be cute to play on the name with the favors. Like “Orange you glad you came to Orange to the Bluebelle wedding” – clearly I’ve not thought this through…..
I will likely be having personalized plastic cups for the beer (the wine will be served in wineglasses) but I don’t really consider that a favor. My other plan is to have cake pops, made by the same bakery as my cake.
What do you think? All suggestions gladly accepted!

I voted no. I think there are still things u could do playing with the orange idea but not actual oranges.

If it’s good enough for Martha it’s good enough for me.

I voted yes. Our favors were local apples, and people liked them. There are a lot of sweets at a wedding, so having fresh fruit is a nice option.

I vote yes, but have a plan about what you’re going to do with leftover oranges as some guests may not take them. But I think it’s cute. And I kinda like the idea of something healthy as opposed to another sweet.

I like the idea of incorporating Oranges in there somewhere but not exactly using oranges. I feel like people wont take them. How about orange coloured candies or something like that

You could also do a takeoff of milk and donut favors. Use small bottles of orange juice and include a mini muffin. This would be a great snack for your guests after the wedding or something to tide them over till they go out for breakfast the next day.

What about an orange flavored treat? We have a local chocolatier who does chocolate covered orange slices.

I think this is a cute idea! A clear pack with orange jellybeans, tic tacs, or m&ms (or something like that)!! Or the second pic is of the orange slice candies!

I wouldn’t like it. Maybe something orange flavored like marmalade or orange chocolate.

Honestly, giving away oranges as favors is kinda cheap.
I agree with the PP with the marmalade idea!

@julies1949: good words to live by! 🙂
I don’t think Oranges would be construed as being cheap by my crowd. I’m having a pretty fancy wedding compared to local standards (or at least my family/social circle). Most weddings I’ve been to had no favors at all. I would wrap them up cute and maybe give two or three.
I like the idea of orange candy or marmalade, but I honestly think it loses the quirkiness of it when you take away the literal interpretation. I do think the OJ and muffins are a great idea, but it’s not an all night long party, ending around 10:00. Does that matter?
