WHY is it SO hard to find a knit cardigan or bolero at a bridal store. I just called every store in town & all the have is lace, chiffon, or satin or nothing. You would think they would cash in on the whole princess kate thing & Ive had a difficult time finding anything dressy & fitted enough anywhere else that isnt really expensive. Ok now that Ive vented I was just wondering if this would work…
I have the most perfect cashere 3/4 sleeve cropped cardigan. The only thing is & this is big.. its BLACK. My Fiance wants to wear a black suit even though were having a day wedding & brunch reception. My dress is tea length & my theme is 50’s/french/Amelie. So colors at the reception & in bouquet including artichokes & other greens… red, yellow, green & a little blue so no black. If it would work it would solve the problem though especially since theres is a chance it may be warm enough to not wear it & I could put more money into my shoes which need to be custom made for my tiny feet.

It would depend on how it looks with your dress, but a black cardigan could look very chic and go well if your Fiance wears a black suit. If you’re going to wear a cardigan, I think the key is to keep it short like Kate did.

I also think the black cardigan could look awesome.
different idea: a friend of mine wore a white faux fur wrap that looked real. it was fabulous.

I’m not sure why you need to get it at a bridal store?

This black cardigan is a perfect fit with my dress… its very fitted & cropped & my dress is ivory. Im really happy with the fit. Its just the black thing thats putting me off a bit
About etsy… I did check on them & they are really expensive especially considering it could be 70 that day & that will be money wasted. Plus it makes me nervous not being about to try on with my dress.
About bridal store… jus thought it would be dressy enough & could try on with dress.
Fur cape would be lovely for winter… not sure about early October.
Maybe I will just add a brooch to black one to add a little color… maybe an artichoke or raspberry for Amelie theme lol. Just kidding.

do you have a photo of your dress and the black cardigan? we might be able to find something similar

The black cardigan will be fine. It will be very classic looking.
If you want something even more 50’s you could find a used Persian Lamb jacket on Ebay.

I just came across this…
Maybe with the sleeves slightly longer.
Heres one similar that I can have made for him but with slightly longer sleeves…
The reason why Im thinking something like this is my dress in strapless sweetheart neckline with pleating details that wrap around the body going down to points a little on the hip. I really dont want something that will take away from that.
This is really cute too but dont think it will keep me warm since thats why I want it but it is adorable…

I think a black cardigan would look ok with what you describe- however I would give it a go with a basic ol cardigan and a brooch or applique added to it to jazz it up a bit… Then you could get it to match your colors. New York & Co has alot of basic ones for not too pricey…

Think I would just like an ivory one. Maybe with a colored brooch but I will check them. Thank you.
What does everyone think of the new style that I posted a couple days ago. I like how it wouldnt hide my dress.
