This drama with my Future Mother-In-Law and Future Sister-In-Law is driving me nuts! So my fiance’s sister is one of my bridesmaids. For bridesmaid dresses, I let her choose whatever dress she wants in one of three wedding colors. She bought her dress weeks ago. Then yesterday, my Future Mother-In-Law sent me a picture of fiance’s sister wearing another dress in a totally different colorand said that in addition to wearing the first bridesmaid dress, she will be changing into this dress for the reception.
I’m uncomfortable with her wearing two dresses at my wedding when I’m not even changing dresses. When I told this to Future Mother-In-Law, she basically accused me of being petty and not letting her daughter stand out among the other bridesmaids. I was so hurt. I had my Future Sister-In-Law choose FIRST out of all the bridesmaids for the color and said she can pick as fancy of a gown as she wants.
Bees, are they out of line or am I being crazy?

Just let it go. You’ll enjoy your wedding much more if you do. Unless one of the dresses is a wedding dress, then who cares??

Unless the dress is extremely uncomfortable to move/dance in (and in which case, why did she pick that one?), she’s being an attention-seeking weirdo. I would just let it go, though. If people even notice her outfit change, she’s the one who will come off as, like I said, an attention-seeking weirdo. It’s no reflection on you.

Treala : I would say that was totally fine if she was a regular guest but seeing as she is the bridesmaid I would want her to remain in the wedding colors. She has the honor of standing up with you on your special day, on top of it all she was able to choose her dress so she should’ve picked one she was comfortable staying in all day.

It always amazes me when bridesmaids and guests worry so much about their dresses at a wedding. No one will notice what she wears the first or second time, everyone will be noticing the bride. If someone does notice they will find her vain and weird. Don’t worry about it. She wants to waste her energy and money, go right ahead. Just let her know you expect her to wear the first dress until the end of formal photos

Why do people do this? Just wear the damn bridesmaid dress and be a good bridesmaid….

Seems weird… Just let it go. Bigger fish to fry.

Is it strange? Yes. Is she the one who will get side-eyed over it? Yes. Should you lose any sleep over it? No. She could change dresses five times and you will still be the bride.

Is the second dress still a wedding color?

You cant really do anything to stop her from doing so, but she’s being a brat for wanting to do so. If I were you, I’d just side eye her and move on with my life.

I think she is super weird, but you dont really have a right to control your reception guests changing clothes or not. No one is going to care or notice her, as long as she isnt changing into a bridal gown or something. Just ignore her and let her be. It’s her money she is wasting.

Super attention seeking, but it will just make her look weird. Just ignore it and enjoy your day

Treala : gah! Let this one go. All eyes will be on the bride. She’s just milking it.
