I just wanted to thank everyone who helped me out last night. Long story short, I reviewed a bad meal at a restaurant, the owner hunted me down and mailed a letter to my home telling me to stay away.
After talking to all of you, my friends, my attorney, and sleeping on it, this is what I did:
If you have a chance to give it a useful vote, I would appreciate it! Also, PLEASE do not leave bogus reviews… I am truly not trying to get this place shut down. I just want people to know what they did.

Glad you decided to put the review back up (although you are nicer than I would be).
I read through the thread this morning and couldn’t contribute since it had been closed but I also think you should include the image of the letter in your new review, personally.
But either way, I’m glad you aren’t letting them intimidate you into not leaving honest feedback about their food.

@MrsLongcoatPeacoat: Done! If I were you, I would also be filing a complaint, but there are laws here about how businesses can be using information. Not sure about the reporting body/laws there. That’s scary that they would bother to mail you something!

I think you were quite nice considering what they did but this seems like the best solution for you.. to be able to be heard, without causing too much of a fuss. They should consider themselves very luck that is all you said..

Good for you, I’m glad you were able to tell the truth. Some people won’t agree with you and will be jerks about it, but at the end of the day, it’s your right to leave an honest review. I’m glad you wrote about the letter on Yelp. Potential customers should know not only about their bad food, but also their creepy business practices.

Also, I’m weirded out at the fact that she literally copied and pasted her response to your first review onto this new one. She asked you to come back and give it a try again, after sending you a letter saying you’re banned from the place? What an idiot.

Wow! I didn’t see your original post, but I went back and saw what they did to you! I can’t believe that they did that! I would not have been as nice as you were. I think you should have posted a picture of hat letter, too. That’s just out of line and outrageous!

@LilliePad: Is the owner’s response new?? I thought that was weird too. It still has the date as 1/16/2013 though. I don’t know anything about how Yelp works

@adoc86: Oh you’re probably right, I assumed OP wrote an entirely new review instead of just un-deleted the old ones. I didn’t see the date, It makes more sense now. I don’t know how Yelp works either lol.

Like other people here said, you’re so nice!
I’d sue the shit out of them for harassment. When you do anything public, like open a restaurant, etc. you open yourself up to critique. If you can’t handle bad reviews, you should stay out of the restaurant business and just cook in your own kitchen.
