Has anyone done ceremony and reception at Fuel House without using the courtyard (now it’s called Trust I think)? Any pics? I’m worried that the space won’t be big enough…

I think Mrs. Bruschetta got married there. Don’t know if she did ceremony there though? And I dont’ think she ever started her recaps? Maybe try reading through her blogs?
Mrs. Bruschetta didn’t have her ceremony there (only reception), but you should definitely check out her posts on the venue!
I LOVE the trust venue and am trying to save up my deposit for the space now…. The more I move along in the planning process, the more I am leaning towards doing the ceremony and reception there. I’m not sure how many guests your having but they told us that the front space could hold 150 for the ceremony and our guest list at about 170 would exceed that. I am not totally convince that I want to have some of my guests upstairs for the ceremony. The back “cocktail hour” space seems a bit small to fit all of the people for cocktails to me…. Best of luck!
I know! I love it to! I just don’t know how moving all my guests from that front space to that back cocktail area would work. I keep going back and forth on it. I know they’ll drape off that back area so that when ceremony is over everyone moves back there and then they flip the other side of the curtain (the ceremony area) and then open it back up for cocktails, I just don’t know.
I’m looking at doing Feb. 2012 so I definitely have to do ceremony and cocktails inside otherwise you can use the betsy ross patio area for cocktails. SInce you’re doing May you could do that.
How are you doing with the long engagement? We got engaged at the end of dec. and just decided to do Feb 2012 instead of 2011. I wanted to do a winter wedding but we didn’t think we could pull it off financially in a year. I want to start planning stuff though, I’m so impatient!
The long engagement is hard but I’m planning anyway! Screw those people and their RULES. I’m planning early so that I can stick to my budget. We definitely can’t pull off ours financially in one year either. We got engaged in November of this year so it looks like we might be in the same boat! How many guests are you having? We’re having 175 and I’m not sure that I’m into renting the courtyard for cocktails in case it rains. I’m just not comfortable with them squishing everyone back in that area until they take out all the ceremony chairs. I think it’s gonna be too tight so we continue to look for a separate ceremony site. I guess that is the plus of planning in advance. Keep me posted on how things are going! We are working on saving up our deposit ASAP!
OMG i thought your post’s title was FULL HOUSE ceremony, and I immediately thought of the episode where they walked around the table for the Greek wedding ceremony ( i believe) haha!
@weaverm26 We are currently inviting about 160 I think about 130 will probably be coming. I don’t like the idea of doing ceremony there either. I think it’s going to be too cramped in that back space. Check out the Meeting House that’s right down the street, I think it’s kind of a non denominational place to do ceremonies…
hi we are looking into maybe booking here but i am impatient and want a short engagement! when you spoke to them at trust (aka fuel, that’s what i still call it) do you know if they had winter 2011 dates left? we are going to talk to them in a few weeks but again, impatient! thanks girls!
If you take a look at partyspace.com http://partyspace.com/philadelphia_county_weddings/unique_spaces/trust you’ll see they have plenty of dates available. They’re supposed to update this pretty regularly so I think it’s pretty accurate.
Winter isn’t too popular a time so I think you’ll be safe.
thanks! also, for your cocktail hour at trust,is there any way for you to do it upstairs overlooking the dancefloor, then come back down for dinner? (like how they do it at the park hyatt at the bellevue). not sure if there’s room downstairs for the dinner tables AND dancing, but just a thought…
i went to a wedding (ceremony and reception) at fuel house in january. i dont know the exact number of people, but it was probably around 150. the ceremony was in that first room when you walk in with chairs lined up in a u shape. people were also standing up on that higher level and around looking down (not the second floor though). dinner was upstairs. they cleared the chairs in the room from the ceremony and that is where the band and dancing was.
here are my thoughts on fuel house:
1. it was FREEZING. they had curtains hanging by the door, but it didnt block much of the cold air from getting in.
2. there isnt much of an “aisle” to walk down, so the father walking the daughter down the aisle didnt really happen. if that is your dream, then either arrange the chairs differently, or dont have it there.
3. once dinner was over, and people went downstairs, there were hardly any tables and chairs. my feet were killing me and the older people took the few chairs there were.
4. i am just one opinion, i have heard of other people really liking it.
5. they had good beer, which was a plus! since it is byo.
hi hive!
i’m interested in TRUST because it is big enough for my big ethnic wedding, and also allows us to bring our own caterer. wondering if anyone knows how much they charge to rent on a saturday night during peak season?
thanks!
@deebs: According to this post, it’ll be $6,000-8,000. Probably more towards the higher end…
@RayRayFurious: thanks! i heard from trust and they charge: $7200 from March through December (saturday nights).
